Geocaching.com smartphone date logging issue

A number of you are probably well aware that the official Geocaching.com application seems to, well, crap itself when dealing with dates from such forward thinking countries as New Zealand and Australia :D The very latest v5.1.1 update of the iPhone Geocaching application, released today, still suff...

Re: NZ MEGA 2012 - an update

Yes, I've been a bit busy for non-GPS/geocaching reasons. I will be doing a batch tonight. If I don't get them all done tonight, the remainder will be going out tomorrow. The more simple your 'order' the sooner they will go out. E.g. registration-only will go out first, then I'll process the more co...

Re: NZ MEGA 2012 - an update

...PayPal... Any News yet? Yes. The limited testing last night with three Australian geocachers were successful (after jumping through all the PayPal hoops for an organisation, which took quite some time), so expect this to be announced in the June newsletter due out in the next couple of days. But...

Submission to Garmin to produce a tool to make BirdsEye/JNX

I can't remember if I'd posted this effort in the GCA forums, so please excuse me if I have already mentioned it. In short, I'm organising an effort to collect a list of Garmin GPS owners that are keen to support a collective effort to contact Garmin, and ask them to release a software tool, and ide...

Re: Downloading all my GCA logs

Nope - it was the My logs in GPX that was hidden all the way down the bottom of My Account page. I would note that there doesn't appear to be an option in the My Query generator to select 'I have logged' - which was what I was looking for initially, before I trawled pages and found the link to My Lo...

Downloading all my GCA logs

I'm trying to figure out how to download all of my GCA logs - irrespective of type, so I can added them into GSAK. Easy enough to get finds, but also want my others e.g. DNFs etc.

Have I overlooked some simple option, or does it not exist?

Cheers Gav

Re: NZ Attendees...global roaming

Pre-paid is definitely more expensive in NZ than Australia - one of the benefits of a larger market I guess. I think you'll find quite a bit more free wireless than previously. Do what I do in Australia - go grab a coffee at McCafe and make use of the free Macca's wifi :)

Re: NZ Attendees...global roaming

In NZ, when you arrive at the airport purchase a NZ Vodaphone SIM card ( In Auckland its in the duty free area). For geocachers, I'd recommend avoiding Vodafone and getting a Telecom prepay card instead. Sure Voda is convenient in the airports, but if coverage is important, Telecom will give you mu...

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?

When a team does these records, am I right in assuming that not all members are present at every cache, that one group would be doing one cache, the other somewhere else doing another? Would each log would be signed as the team, or as all individuals' of the team? Personally, I don't see a Divide a...

Re: NZ MEGA 2012 - an update

Just a brief update. Yes, we've been fairly quiet with news recently while OZ MEGA was on, and some of us were attending, and observing, and making notes ;) I expect we'll have quite a bit to share in the coming weeks. Registrations will be opening next week for New Zealanders (as we can accept NZ p...

And I see this has already been done just a few days ago - awesome :)

352 caches in a day, taking in NXY, APM, WH and TdF.

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?

Of course...there's always NZ territory to play with! Absolutely - come set a new record this October. :) Moneydork and I were talking about it over the trip, and it should be pretty easy to do 400 around greater Adelaide in 24 hours - which is why we didn't really treat ours seriously (I mean who ...

Re: NZ MEGA 2012 - an update

I've just updated the registrations of interest, and we've currently got 565 people (283 teams) registered and they're still coming in at a steady trickle. We expect to announce the registration pricing and details in the Feb newsletter due next week, and should be able to start accepting payments s...

Re: NZ MEGA 2012 - an update

Some not so shonky logic when booking an airfare from Australia to NZ for the mega-event... It may work out cheaper to book two one-way air tickets rather than a return ticket. The journey back to Australia will be calculated and paid in NZD, at current exchange rates this may be cheaper than the c...
