Re: GSAK Access for Mac

No support at present - and unlikely in the future. GSAK is a Windows program and to my knowledge Clyde is not planning to port it to any other operating system. On the other hand I understand that GSAK runs quite acceptably on a Mac system under Paralells etc. There are several related threads on t...

Re: Android Geocaching Apps

For GSAK users there is a Android application called GDAK which can read multiple database files exported from GSAK. This is a one way read only and once the database is opened by GDAK it can't be exported back to GSAK. GDAK operates well on both smart phones and tablets (Samsung Galaxy Ace / Asus T...

If the full dataset is available for Excel, it wouldn't be all that difficult export it to a Csv file and then to write up a macro to import it into Gsak. Once that is done, you would have cache id's (a rule would need to be made) and you could also use the buit-in Gsak GetCountry and GetState funct...

It looks ok now, though I had that message a few minutes ago. Interestingly, the displayed url appeared to be from the GA website

I should have made myself clear. It's the GCA .Gpx files that I'm getting the error with. I have no problem with GC created PQ's

XML Validation

I use Gsak (version 7.2.3.21) as my Geocaching database, and load PQ's from gc.com as well as .gpx files from GCA. Recently I have been getting this error "This file does not pass XML validation and will be ignored". The result is that Gsak ignores the file and I get no updates  . Before I ask ...

Try re-installing the UBD software. To my knowledge, it's the only way that Ozi can read the maps properly

While I have the ability to be evil all by myself, it'd be fun to do it as a community thing - I'll be in it (if you're still looking for something nasty here in WA)

A lot of good ideas above :D . Free and Open Geocaching - GCA would not be free if advertising was the first option. If an option at all - it should be last. It would put the price of downloading and seeing (but not necessarily watching) ads every time you open a GCA page. I like things the way they...
