Re: Geotalk geocaching podcast - Episode 101

Enjoyed a listen while doing some mindless data entry today. Great to hear some sounds from the mega.

Glad you're continuing on with the podcast Darren. I'll still be a devoted listener and couldn't care less how often or how regularly the podcast comes out.

Re: Garmin Oregon 650

Does anyone have any experience with the ScreenPatronus screen protectors or for that matter the 3M Vikuiti™ screen protector ARMR220 for the Oregon 600? They are more expensive than other eBay options so wondering if they are worth the dollars. Thanks Andrew I got the pre-cut screen protectors fro...

I was surprised at how short my genealogy was!

And then Madcat, if you go into the loop of caches found after placing caches, but I'm going to stop at Karl Gramp's GCEB "Sandy Creek" placed in December 2000, the first in South Australia.

Re: Armchair discoveries

Same here. I don't have a problem with take-away lists of codes for trackables that are at an event. The list that people were logging from for my coins was a list provided at an event, but it appears it was just a list of trackables randomly cobbled together by... someone, I guess. Neither of the c...

Re: Armchair discoveries

I started getting several virtual logs on two of my geocoins, several of which plainly stated that they gained the codes from a list distributed at a caching event in (I think) Germany. And saying "thanks for the icon". One of the coins at the time was physically in the USA. Logs were deleted and a ...

Re: Permanent ban on small, high powered magnets in Australia

But what about all those people who use them to hold up their pathtag collections? The way I read it, the ban only covers sale of spherical magnets that are sold specifically as toys, ie: that are supplied as aggregated masses or in multiples of two or more; and that are intended or marketed by the...

Re: R U OK - Depression & Geocaching.

Thankyou, Sue, for your brave words. There is a stigma and misunderstanding and it can make it very difficult to come forward. I am in complete agreeance that geocaching and the geocaching community can do wonders for those dealing with depression and other mental illnesses. I have written on these ...

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou once again for a well run, fun and challenging competition. This time of year (particularly this year here in SA, although that could have been my imagination) tends to be dark, dreary and cold and wet, which can put a dampner (see what I did there? ) on cachin...

Well things are getting pretty interesting at the pointy end of the competition. I suspected who one of the most competitive people would be on day one. Turns out I was right. Well done, gd__!!

Re: Caching games this year?

Hey, maybe they could all be wheelchairs this year. Or bikes. Or other alternative modes of transport. Each one with chain and lock. In plain sight. You need the combo, unlock it and ride it to the next location and hide it. Of course, then you have to walk back. But still. Stop someone placing 20 ...
