Thanks. I had a look at their website but there is no detail on protective cases displayed.
I got the Gizmo vest for my Etrex from them but guess they don't stock them anymore.

All I get is an error message "openstreetmap.nl is not responding due to a long running script".

Re: Open Street Map Australia
I used the same process as CraigRat. Easy as pie! Have used them on a few walks now and they look really good. Still to try them out in the boonies a bit.

Open Street Map Australia
Anybody using these maps? They seem to be comprehensive and up to date e.g. new subdivision where son lives in Thornlands (QLD) which is not on City Navigator or Garmin Topo Australia is present. Routing seems to work OK, but not able to route to an address. Does anybody know what coverage out in th...

Re: 40th parallel
Looks pretty right from memory. The signpost and white line painted on the road was (from memory) 246m ENE from that point. There isn't quite enough detail in Google Maps to discern it on the satellite view. They had signs and painted lines on each of the 3 major roads on the island which were cross...

Re: 40th parallel
Thanks, everybody.
GPSr is set to WGS84. Unit is new Etrex 20 (& a brilliant bit of kit it is, too.) Accuracy is spot on with geocaches (which also are based on WGS 84), so the ~250m inaccuracy on the meridian had me stumped.

40th parallel
http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc498/davida60/40thParallelw.jpg Here's a photo not many of you may have seen. Taken on Flinders Island. Apparently the 40th parallel south only crosses 4 land masses (Flinders & King Is, N.Z. [North Is], South America [Chile & Argentinia]. Now a question. The lo...

I was looking at a nine sided (nonagonal?) object about 3.5 km SE of the Maralinga site. I don't know how to post an image or I would show a Google Maps screen dump. When I paste the coords I originally posted in my message into Google MAPS it shows the object I was referreing to. (Maybe a differenc...
