Re: Money support for website
Like many geocachers, I pay $30 to Groundspeak annually for premium membership, so at the same time each year I also donate $30 to GCA... I feel that my GCA spend is much better value than the other mob!

The wiki says that your next increment for an update is 2,500 finds, Yurt.Yurt wrote:The forum stars won't update for me now. Stuck at 2350.
Not crisis stuff but I just noticed it not change when I clicked the update function.

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Let me add another voice of thanks, particularly to caughtatwork for the amazing job coordinating the game. Simply brilliant! I really enjoyed the opportunity to cache in a different way, strategically planning my finds for two months rather than just chasing the smileys. Congratulations to those wh...

Re: Caching games this year?
One disadvantage of a larger item as a moveable is it makes it harder for those outside capital cities to get involved, or for the race items to travel interstate as people get plane trips around the place. Just a thought. Being large didn't stop "Mobility Stealth" ( http://geocaching.com.au/cache/...

Re: Caching games this year?
I love the idea of "wheels"... would prevent mint tins, and give us something incredibly embarrassing to have to find and walk away with in very public places. All the elements of a good moveable!
Bikes, wheelchairs, ride-on mowers, kids' toys, etc... would be a heap of fun.

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
I'm happy to see people challenging and battling for some of the minor placings. Even if they are ultimately determined by luck, it's still entertaining to see the anticipation in being bumped down to a winner place on the ladder. Agreed! It certainly keeps me interested in the game til the end, ev...

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Back on Topic... Congrats to current Top 3... Ive been bumpped out of Medals on a count back but I knew that would happen as I started late. However, dont count your chickens yet... there is at least 1, possibly 2 or 3 who can still hit the Golden 30/350 target to shake the top of the tree :twisted...

Is it time for early congratulations to Team Wibble? Can they be knocked off the top spot? Zalgariath tried, but he must have been beaten by an earlier log.
This will be interesting!

Re: BIT Caches (aka QR Code Caches)
As the owner of a "codeword" cache on GCA ( http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2500 ), I have to agree that they make life very easy for the CO. The system automatically verifies that the finder has actually found the "cache". I like the idea of QR caches. I've found a few Munzees, and agree with Zalg...

Something kid orientated? (In unrelated news, has anyone else noticed a whole lot more frogs being sold in the shops now? 8-[ :frog ) Yes - always the way when you're desperate to buy something that used to be everywhere when you didn't need it, then is common as muck again after its too late... :-...

Re: GeosportZ 2012 - Questions and Clarifications
Well yes, you can get quite a few if you so chosse and the cache around you are suitable. However, I think by the time you count back the 100, then the first 25 pointer (likely to be the free throw that was possible to lof on 1st July) and then the next 25 pointer (closest to home or else another 2...
