Re: Overnight hikes with caches
If you are really keen, a ridge not far enough, and don't bluff around will take about 3-4 (or more) full days hiking to do

Re: Flooded caches
I guess I'll just make a few minor adjustments, and change the cache into a Z style puzzle. The new description could look something like this: There was a cache originally placed under the rocks at the base of the sign in the picture at the given coordinates. It has since been washed downstream by ...

Re: Something New
We need more GCA caches in SA! Though I guess that Trig points would count, so that would be the way that a lot of South Aussies would have to do it. Need more cachers to hide GCA caches! The plan is that my next hide will be a GCA cache. Very well, try these on for size then http://geocaching.com....

Re: endurance/geocaching events...
Hiking the Yurrebilla series in less than 24hrs, now you have my attention  , anyone interested? No one has done the 4 main caches in one day yet so there is bragging rights to be won there. I think the best is one section in a day. BTW, you'll most likely need training, there is 1600m of ...

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
doesn't a ban mean that if you are caught, you are "in trouble"? so basically this implies that you can place the cache all you like but if anyone is caught finding it, or for that matter the cache is found you are "in trouble" ban it or not this is similar to caches in dangerous area, but instead o...

I'm involved in Rovers, (scouts for 18-26 year olds) my crew is organizing a major event for the South Australian Branch of scout called NONT, it is essentially an overnight rally that relies on solving puzzles to work out the directions between activity check points, and looking for certain signs o...

I'm somewhat impressed that they managed to find white while it is behind construction fences and unavailable, and that they can find so many hours in a day, I wish I had the time to do 59 green ghost and the entire onkaparinga series i one day, let alone have time for another 50 hard caches

Re: 160 metre rule
on a similar area, I was considering hiding a cache under a certain bridge, you would have to abseil into the truss of the bridge, and then climb a few meters through it, there is already a 1,1 on the bridge, can the rule be broken for completely different styles of cache?

Cache / Hikers log hybrids
I'm considering hiding a few caches in the Gammon Ranges in South Australia. For those of you who don't know this area, it is a very rugged and dry part of the Northern Flinders Ranges about 800km North of Adelaide, It also provides some of the most difficult and spectacular hiking in the State. I r...
