Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I don't come here often but today I get this. Warning: mysqli_connect() [function.mysqli-connect]: (08004/1040): Too many connections in /var/www/site/gca/include/gca_database.php on line 14 Warning: mysqli_error() expects exactly 1 parameter, 0 given in /var/www/site/gca/include/gca_database.php on...

Re: Newbie thread: Which Magellan handheld GPS to buy?
I haven't looked into the maps issue yet. I'm sure they'll put out updated maps eventually, but will that mean more $$ :( Well - I wouldn't hold your breath!! Have a look at this announcement on one of the Explorist forums: http://www.exploristforum.com/forums/general-510-610-710/bad-news-from-jeff...

Re: dragonZone
Does that mean if I hide a whole lot of GCA caches and let my clan find them and once my clan have found and control them, I then archive them so no one else gets any points but my clan gets the points and retains control. A second point what if I find a cache after it has been archived, such as a c...

This made me laugh, as long as you don't tell her were a trig is? A bit hard to do with a large white triangle with a black round disk on it.Zalgariath wrote:If she really wants to go revisit trigs or caches I have previously found I see no problem (as long as I dont tell her where they are

Re: Just updated my explorist GC and.......
Try both an email and a phone call to Magellan, I have recently and received a lot of support even though my unit is 4 years out and way over the warranty period. They are very help full and were able to sort my processing issue out. From my understanding you should be able to upload from the GPS to...

Re: Just updated my explorist GC and.......
Is it showing them as found or not found? when they still show up. There is a function that lets you hide or show found caches and this may of been reset also.

Re: A better way to log GCA cache finds (and DNF's)
The fact that you're reading this forum says there is a fair chance that you search for Geocaching Australia caches. I'll bet you also search for GC caches. What's more I suspect most of you log your GC finds (and DNF's :stabby ) via the "publish logs" function in GSAK and your GCA finds via a more...

Re: Early idea for 2013/2014 race
I like the idea too but I suspect that we are losing sight of the true brilliance of the earlier games. Bingo was a great idea but suffered from being a competitive game that was meant to be played in a non-competitive manner(?!). We're talking about the Christmas period, school holidays. Dedicated...

Re: The fires
Hi Guys as an Ex Fire Fighter and Resident of the Bluies who has been through several large fires up there, my advice. Go anyway. It is one of the most spectacular places that burnt or unburnt still holds about it magic and mystery. True the main fire issue should be solved within the next week or t...

Re: Filter out trigs from dashboard
It would also be nice to turn them off the map as they clutter things up. Reason I don't really look at GCA Maps is they are to cluttered and unable to toggle items on and off.
