Re: garmin vs tom tom

If purely coming from a novice, never used a gps before type scenario, TomTom may arguably be simplier to use for street navigation. Having said that, we have a Garmin Nuvi 310 for street navigation (and it was also our caching GPSr when we first started as well) for a number of years now and find i...

Re: Garmin Australian Topo V Garmin City Navigator NT

We have an oregon 300 with City Navigator and find it works really well for caching. Great for navigating close to the cache. As most of the caches we have done did not invlove long walks through bushland etc, we haven't had much use for the topo maps, but expect they would come into their own for t...

Re: Who to blame? The cacher? The GPS? Moi?

Sorry, but don't agree that all caches should easy and straight forward to find once you get to GZ. Some of the most memorable caches we have found are the very cleverly camoflaged containers that were not easy to find at all, but we got a lot of satisfaction after we did "eventually" come up trumps...

Re: GPS unlocking question.

Did a quick search and found the following for you...

I don't have a Mio myself and haven't tried anything on that particular page, so I can't vouch for it, but the instructions looked pretty simple.

Have fun

Re: [OT] Motherboard selection. Tips anyone?

I'd be suprised if you can't get the drivers for Windows 7 for your machine but they are available for Vista64??? If you can get your machine working with Vista64 it will work with Windows 7. Even though it has a different name, Windows 7 is basically a fixed up/prettied up version of Vista (basical...

Good choice in GPSr - we bought our Oregon 300 a couple of months ago now from Johhny Appleseed. At the time they offered the best price around and also we received excellent service from them.
