Re: Google Maps Issue
The Google Maps issue is a pain, but not surprising. Monetization sucks :). I'm not sure if GCA have looked into it, but there is a Non Profit program at google which includes credits for maps. Details at https://www.google.com.au/intl/en/nonprofits/ and https://support.google.com/nonprofits/answer/...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Thats odd, never looked at any trigs over that way. Infact never mark trigs as FTF cos i don't reckon i can justify claiming that i am the first to have found it. Oh well, will remove it from my list. Thanks for the guidance.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Another small inconsistancy in the google maps feed. On my first to find map (http://geocaching.com.au/my/hotlist/firstofind.gmap) it correctly shows all locations for my FTF's but also adds in a trig point i've never been to and marks it on the map as Z (as expected). The trig that is being shown i...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Another minor bug (maybe) in the google earth feed. The event "Marong Family Hotel Event for Tea (http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc2jh31) is showing up with the ME (i assume Mega Event) icon.

Re: Converting GC cache to GCA
Yeah, i've got a few of each. Been hiding a little bit now. Just have one or two which are apart of a series which i was wanting to convert all to either GC or GCA. Finds are not so much as important to me these days. Its not at all really important, just wondering if there was an easy way.

Converting GC cache to GCA
Just a question... I was thinking of changing a few of my GC caches to GCA caches. I have done so in the past by just creating a new listing of the same name, but that never pleases the crowds. Caches then have an new unfound cache, which they have found, that will taunt them with the questioning th...

Re: Geocache Density Maps for Google Earth
1. Squares don't account for the ocean. Possible use something like local council areas or electorates for separation instead. I had a look into using electorates and local council areas, but it doesn't turn out all that aesthetically appealing. You really need a regular unit of space for it to loo...

Re: Geocache Density Maps for Google Earth
2. Contoured maps? (is this possible) Haha, Great minds think alike! I was just editing my previous posting to say that I'll try to make up some contour maps. They are a little more fiddly as you need to take all the points (40000+), poke them through some spatial analysis software, create an densi...

Re: Geocache Density Maps for Google Earth
I'll make that the first request, a 5kmx5km grid of Adelaide. Will let you know when its ready. It would be interesting to see Adelaide broken down in 5kmx5km grid cells. I wouldn't have picked the SW suburbs as a particularly dense area but looking at how the 20km cells have fallen that's because t...

Re: Most cache dense areas in Ausrtalia?
Just finished updating the Google Density Maps. They can now be found via this link I am from Yorke Peninsula and now that I have been caching for a while I am starting to think YP might be pretty high on the list. When I first started I just thourgh there were this may caches everywhere. But now I ...

Geocache Density Maps for Google Earth
NOTE: These links will no longer work as i've cleaned up my site and the data is well out of date. I can recreate this data on request, but i need my arm twisted :) After some discussion in other forums about the most cache dense areas in Australia ( see here ) I've decided to update my Geocache de...

Re: Australian Cache Density
I'll start up a new thread when the next version of the density maps are out which should be in a couple of weeks. Then we can start fresh.
