Wow
I just tried some random coordinates in the form -38.123,145.678 at http://maps.google.com.au/ and it shows me exactly how to get there.
What fun!

In Victoria on that day the average EPE was 11 metres and the PDOP was around 3 which equates to a normal day in the GPS geocaching world. <p> According to http://www.newscientistspace.com/article/dn7973 the flares occurred around 18:40 GMT, which was 4:40 AM 8 September 2005 in Victoria. Hence the...

Re: Google Earth Directions
how can i get google earth to give me directiond from (say) Melbourne to Eden? Ian I don't think you can as Google Earth doesn't seem to have the data or smarts for this part of the world, yet. There are other less exiting sites such as http://www.travelmate.com.au/MapMaker/MapMaker.asp?TM_Page=map...

A question if I may for those contributing here who have made numbers attempts: In the case where you arrive at your chosen target and there are muggles nearby or even in the vicinity, or you have found the cache while unhindered by muggles but one then approaches and hangs around, what do you do? ...

100 cache finds in less than 18 hours is a spectacular effort. Congratulations. There is no doubt that having a local driver would help but it is still a huge day out. I know that the two times we have tried for a big number in a day (41 & 44) we have been exhusted by the end. One of the chalenges t...

Google suggests that it is quite a common phrase in the US of A and, from the number of listings returned, I suspect that most Americans would know that you had just found something. http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=Huckle+Buckle+Beanstalk+&btnG=Google+Search&meta= Perhaps it is the US of A e...

Nothing wrong with random discount coupons as swaps. But if the local Krusty Kreme Donut shop manager happened to be a cacher and placed a Cache near their shop with only buy-one-get-one-free coupons I think there would be objections. Krispy Kreme are coming to Melbourne and, rumour has it, are set...

Tough call... Three bad waypoints is three too many, ten great ones is a great caching experience. Two of our recommendations in ChCh have more than 6 waypoints (I forget exactly how many) but they were FUN ones! I've also trudged around a local cache with endlessly repeated waypoints that only exi...

We will log a DNF if we have a serious attempt at finding the cache but come up empty handed or we can't get a serious attempt because of something that others may also have trouble with. For example, if the cache location has many muggles involved in an organised activity, like football, then we wi...
