Re: Phones & GPS

I use a Garmin etrex 30. It's the only GPS I've owned. I have attempted a few times to use my phone by loading caches onto it, but it's not as easy as the GPS, so have stuck to the Garmin. Besides, phones don't work on much of the Stuart Hwy (and like places). I found my first 180 caches with print ...

Last post first at top of page.

Is this possible? It used to be. Where can I set the preferences for this?

Because it isn't this way for me, I now rarely visit this forum, because the posts are in alphabetical order of cacher name. Too hard to use at present.

Re: Published another NZ trig

I published a CORS today (the first in NZ?). It had the top rating for a trig on the NZ trig site, and it's the first of that rating I have found. It's right beside a very nice (lower rated) trig, so a visit gets two for the effort of one. Plus a view and a cafe :) Mt John Observatory MT_JOHN_GPS 50...

Re: Published another NZ trig

I have used this: http://apps.linz.govt.nz/gdb/?mode=gmap

Although the occasional (obvious) trig does not appear on it.

I can't see any issue.
With that in mind I have published several more NZ trigs :)

Published another NZ trig

It's hard to know what could be considered a trig in NZ. Having a top doesn't necessary make it a trig. I've seen lowly rated ones with vanes, or beacons as they are called, and higher rated ones as just a flat metal survey mark. Yes, saying survey mark, as I've yet to actually see a mark with trig ...

Importing GPX files for other countries

I notice when I import files other finders are listed too. Does this mean that if they belong to Geocaching Australia that find is also imported for them?

New trig published in NZ

If anyone is visiting NZ this trig is worth a visit, Spectacular scenery along a walking track. I included photographs on my log. TP7685

I also published TP7675, but although I walked past it, I didn't see it, so a return visit is on the cards to log it..

Re: I saw this trig from Trunkey Rd

Three Brothers trig is not on the GA map then. I also checked archived, and it doesn't appear there either. I wonder why? Anyway, I could publish the trig. Later though. I am about to go out caching. Waiting on a couple of fellow geocachers to arrive. Probably not on GCA because it is on private pr...

Do you have the coordinates for that? I can't find that trig on the GA trig map.

I saw this trig from Trunkey Rd

I photographed it from S33° 38.559 E149° 24.900. I don't know what trig this is. Any ideas? Maybe the structure on the left is a clue.
