Re: Hello from _RAAF_Stupot
How did I get my name? Well my given name is Stuart - and from an early age my family nickname was Stupot. Secondly I am a member of the Real Aussie Air Force (that is a virtual squadron). http://www.raafsquad.com/ So that is where the RAAF tag comes from. Finally I have found it much easier to use ...

Hello from _RAAF_Stupot
Hello all, I thought it was about time to finally introduce myself. Geocaching is something I have been intrigued with for some time (as I like electronic gadgets & geography & bushwalking), so I finally got around to getting myself a handheld GPS & taking the plunge. Yesterday I tried about 4 local...

Re: GARMIN DAKOTA 20
Yeah I'm not having much real luck with this :x I downloaded the sendmap program - when I used that all I got was an error message. Then I tried the img2gps program and when I tried that, it did not recognise the USB connection. (which does definitely work because I have uploaded caches)....... :twi...

Re: GARMIN DAKOTA 20

Re: GARMIN DAKOTA 20
Hi, Keep it on Normal (Normal=Normal). WAAS disabled. There'll be a seperate spot to enter the Datum. My GPSmap 60CSx is in Setup>Units>Map Datum. If you've loaded up the Mapsource software onto your computer, Contours Australia should work in there. Hope this is some help. :D Thanks! Found the cor...

Re: GARMIN DAKOTA 20
I just bought a Dakota 20 today! The last one in stock at Ryda in Sydney! It's my first handheld GPS so I can't really compare it to anything else and I have to agree that it seems very simple to use. So simple that there doesn't seem to be a HUGE difference between the quick start guide a...
