Logging GCA caches straight from GSAK
I know I used to do it but the computer borked and I have reloaded all the software. There was a little adjustment that could be made to the log cache macro in GSAK - it was only a few lines of code that could be copied and pasted in to the existing macro that would differentiate logs for GC.com and...

Re: Anybody seen such a trig before?
I've seen one of these, on the west coast of Tasmania. It is a fire lookout tower and is from quite some time ago. Surveyors used them as they could be sighted just like a normal trig beacon, and because they are concreted into the ground, they don't move - like communication towers, water towers, a...

Re: Trig points
Within reason though. If you can get *reasonably* close and it is just over a fenceline or something then I think it should stay, there isn't a requirement to touch the thing. If the only possible shot is from several hundred meters away with a big zoom lens then it should probably go. Since most o...

Re: 100 Trig find reward
My tag turned up today. Initially I thought it was a chain letter and was going to throw it away without opening it, but curiosity got the better of me. So glad it did!

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Don't know if there is something happening with the server but it took 10 minutes to publish a trig just now.
And the edit took nearly a minute to go through....
[edit] And the log for the new trig is still trying to get through...

Re: Caching genealogy
I was summoned to bring ropes and other bondage gear for my first cache.
That was The Dragon's Lair (GC2E33) by Shagzter (Mt Wellington)
Shagzter's first cache was Geocache (GC2D20) by Don (Adamsfield)
Don, it seems, never found any caches and only put out one, on 15/12/2001.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I logged a couple of movables today (1/1/13) but on the cache listing, it shows I found them on 1/1/12. A whole year ago.
They show up in January 2013 when viewed as My, Logs
I only twigged to this as I was looking at the dashboard for Tas and wondered why there werent any stats yet.....

Re: Creating field notes from GSAK
You could always try the macro called 'Create Field Notes" from the gsak macro library. http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=7946&view=findpost&p=51393 If you flag the caches as found and run the macro, it will sort the flagged caches and not the caches already found on GC.com The text file can...

Re: bulk downloading to my GPS
I've been having a play and I think the only fault I can find with it is I can't seem to make it show me on the map all the caches I have in the GPS or on the list in GSAK. Unfortunately I have a touch of paranoia in my makeup and I want to be certain all the caches in the area I want to search are...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Recently I noticed that on the trig pages that some (i've only checked a couple) report the height incorrectly. As an example: Mount Wellington (TP0540) is reported to be 1258m high but we all know it is 1274m. The other is Mount King William (TP3472) reports as 1278m when it is 1324m. As we cant ed...
