Just as there was the episode with the sock puppet logging caches that "should be archived" a few weeks ago, we will also have a minority element within the geocaching community that think it fun to create a "bad" cache. How long before we have cacher vigilantes cleaning up the town?!

Geocaching has evolved and will continue to evolve, from what was probably an original "stick a tupperware container under a bush somewhere that's kind of interesting or in an area that hasn't got one yet"... I was thinking about this, it started out as hiding a container and posting the coordinate...

I thought this was a resurrection of an old thread from years ago. I reckon there were probably people thinking the same thing back in, oh, 2003?! I do agree though, I was out caching with a friend on the weekend and we got to thinking that perhaps we were getting to be grumpy old men....

Re: iPhone geocache software

I was informed today that there is now a geocaching application for the iphone. It's available from the iTunes store for $17.99 apparently. I don't have an iPhone but that could change if this app turns out ok. Combining phone with paperless caching means 1 less gadget to carry. http://www.ayefon.c...

And if you can't find your unpublished cache again when you go to edit it, it's on your "Account" page under "Draft". :)

I like finding caches, don't much like looking for them, bending down and peering in logs and under benches etc, but as soon as I find it those thoughts are forgotten. On to the next! :D

Most odd, I have not tried it out, but was under the impression that most units had a disable feature that rendered them useless above a certain speed/altitude, so as the units could not be used in guidence systems for less savoury activities....or is this an urban myth? There was one of these put out in Sydney, the owner backed down when it was pointed out the cache would forever be annoying people at the top of their unfound caches list.

I'm using it with Trimble Geocache Navigator on my Nokia Mobile. Doesn't let me do any actual field notes but makes it easier to log them. Certainly a handy feature that saves looking up each cache individually.
