Yes, I'm familiar with nearmap, but that was not my point.
It's all about the same data being presented differently by Google Maps and Goggle Earth.

Google Earth vs Google Maps
I may be the only one in the world interested in this, but I do find it interesting that with Google Earth you can zoom in using very small steps and achieve a much a closer look than you can with Google Maps Satellite view. With Google Maps you zoom in using steps in the scale, and reach a certain ...

Re: GSAK 7.7.0.109 update problem
I had an issue when upgrading in that it couldn't delete a temp file as it was locked by GSAK.
Killing GSAK and restarting the upgrade wouldn't fix it
Rebooting and repeating the upgrade fixed it.

Hmmmm ... on May 18th I will be in Piano Di Coreglia in Italy.
I wonder how a GCA cache would go there. Possibly not a great idea.

Re: GSAK And Pocket Queries - How?
In your database, some of the caches you have found might not be showing as found because the particular log showing your find might not be loaded. PQs only load the last 20 logs. To fix this just right click and then Cache Status -> Set to Found

Re: GSAK And Pocket Queries - How?
The basic process is as set out below, but each step will require some learning to get everything working 1. Set up a special email address on hotmail or gmail etc to receive your emailed PQs from GC.com. This is not absolutely necessary, but it is a neat way to do it without mixing all the PQ data ...

Can't you change the units setting in your GPS to show other formats, such as DDDMM.MMM od DDMMSS ? What type of GPS do you have?

Re: The difference between a mystery and a multi cache?
This is an interesting question. As geocaching has evolved, and PDAs, iPhones, more intelligent GPS units etc have become available, then the way we approach caching has changed. When I started at the beginning of 2002, you had to read the listing, there was no other way to do it. Whether it was a M...

Re: Team cards cuasing a problem.
I bought a stamp about 4 or 5 years ago (see my avatar). The ink is lasting well, but I'm not a maniacal cacher, and only find a few each month. If I did it again, I may get a spot for the date and time included. I usually put most of my notes in the gc.com log rather than the cache log. As I recall...

Re: Newbie thread: Which PDA/GPS combination to buy?
I missed the query from bshwckr above, sorry. Here's how I get all the Australian caches into my GPS. 1) I maintain a database of all Australian caches in GSAK using PQs to update them each night. I'm currently using 28 PQs a week to update all Australian caches showing activity in the last 7 days. ...

There are some reasonable demos on Youtube now so you can see the features of some of the new GPSs. There are some pretty bad demos there too, so look at a few.

Re: How good are the Angus Burgers at Mcdonalds
In my opinion, the best feature of Maccas for the out and about cacher is the toilets. Someone has pointed out to me some interesting aspects of the wording on the bag his burger was presented in “prime Angus beef burgers are made from 100% Australian beef, sourced from Aussie farmers” …. Well it lo...

Well I knocked off two suburban trig points this morning. One at Clematis, the other in Lysterfield Park.
8 years of caching for 1 x FTF
1 day of trig pointing for 2 x FTF.
This could be my thing !
