Many thanks. Bob. This is Geocaching Australia - if you are referring to Geocaching.com geocaches, they...

Re: Early idea for 2013/2014 race

Just catching up!

Any one tried GPS + GLONASS? If so does the accuracy have any noticable improvement? The real question has the hider used Glonass? Good point - co-ords only as good as the weakess link viz: Smart Phone. But if you have a device that is accurate it's a good starting point. The points that "geo_jas" ...

Hi C@W,
If we are around we would welcome the opportunity to help on the day. It is pencilled into our diary and we can firm up on availability closer to the date.

As the activity is becoming more prominent with stacks more players (read hiders) we should also be looking at caches...

Re: It seems bizarre to me ...

Absolutely amazing - without wanting to start a new thread, perhaps we should be making more use of Premium Member Caches, especially those specifically designed to house moveables/trackables. :-k

Thanks for that map information CraigRat.
Interesting and a bit scary, and reinforces the need for us Geocachers to get a dialogue going with authorities in other States.

Thought we'd better indicate our intention to attend after hearing about this activity at a Victorian Event in November. Two adults and a van - staying at the event site if power available, otherwise nearest CV park, which is? Thanks for taking the initiative to get this form of Geocaching activity ...
