Re: Archiving my cache
What about a facebook page...? I have never looked for a GCA...I think the last time I used the map on the GCA site it was reallllllllllly slow at loading and at different levels of view some caches vanished, that was approx 6 months ago but. I think the other issue is alot of people only want to lo...

Re: Leaving cash good or bad ??
Bad Bad Bad! Imagine if it became common and known - caches would never be safe from muggles! If I find any money I take it, then double it and donate it to charity. Over $50 over the years. Well in one of these cache's there was enough to buy a large coffee from a coffee shop...! My wife and I wen...

Leaving cash good or bad ??
Over the last couple of weeks, I am seeing more cache's with $$ left in them, in some it is 5 or 10 cents but one out west had a few $$ in it. imho I think this shouldn't happen, as it will incourage some into looking for cache's to retrieve the $$$, ie like the people who take the cash tin's beside...

Re: lost a note pad?
Are there GC numbers with the finds ?? and are there dates ?? if so just check the log's on the dates on the last 5 GC and see who's name lines up on 3 or more and that's your owner, drop them a PM and your away. But this will only work if they have logged them online....

Re: Cache contents what do you leave and why?
You are suppost to leave something of equal or greater value, that is if you wish to swap, you don't have to swap if you don't wish too. items left in caches are mainly for the kids to discover, we have purchased some small figurines - mobile phone tags and we swap possibly each 5 or 6 finds if swap...

Re: How long is too long ??
If you have the physical coin in your hot little hands, my suggestion is: 1) grab it from wherever/whoever has it. 2) pass it through the cache you found it in with a "Write note" and "Visited" so that it gets the kms and the record that it was there. 3) drop it into a cache of your pleasing. It is...

Re: How long is too long ??
This might sound long winded but when this happens to us and it does quite a bit as we are travelling around Oz at the moment I do the following. 1. Check out the person who left the traveller and see where and when they are logging caches. If they haven't logged on for a few days I put the travell...

How long is too long ??
Being a newbie, I'm not sure what to do..... While out caching on the weekend I found a geo coin and decided to help move it on. Now it was logged in the caches log book and had been moved 8 days earlier, but they haven't yet 1/ logged the find of the cache and placement of the coin on GC 2/ logged ...

Re: Palm Tungsten E2 and maps
Thanks for the idea's and replies... Over the last couple of days I have found out there is a way to load maps onto the Tungsten E2 but the software needed is no longer around.. I loaded a map onto Mapsource from OSM and it has pretty good coverage of the area I'm heading to this weekend. I st...
