Re: Cacher login problem

That's the way to do it, but you only need do it once. When we upgraded the forum software, it needs to reset the encryption for the main site to work.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

Wondering if anyone can give some advice as to how to deal with log in problems on the GCA site? I have not been able to log in for at least the last six months. It simply ignores log in attempts. If I put in an incorrect password, it tells me it's incorrect but for a correct password, it takes me ...

Re: How do I edit a log in Geocaching Australia.

Is this your log? Is this on a GCA geocache? Then you can edit it from the geocache page, look for the edit icon next to your log. If this is not your log. If this is not a GCA geocache. Then you're out of luck as you can't edit logs that you don't own and you can edit logs that originated from a 3r...

Re: Archiving a future cache

https://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga14116 is what I assume you're referring to.
To unpublish a geocache listing, you log a "Retracted" log.
I have done that and the cache listing is back in DRAFT mode.
I then deleted my log.

Re: How to change username and password

To align your geocaching names use this self-service function. https://geocaching.com.au/my/settings Make sure you have the correct case set. If you also want to update your forum name to match, please let us know in this thread and we'll get a faeries onto it. That's not a self-service function at ...

Re: Norfolk Island

Thanks, so no trigs for Norfolk Island then. Huh? You can add a TrigPoint to any location in any country around the world. Just use the appropriate country from the country selection (i.e. Norfolk Island). They won't appear in an LGA because their country code is not AU. They won't appear in a dZ b...

Re: Norfolk Island

https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:NF
They have their own country code so they are not collected as part of the AU collection.
As such we have no LGA or dZ defined for locations other than AU.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

I don't know why that happens. It's a bug, but I can't find it. I'll add a widget to the zone page so that the community can recaclulate the dZ stats for a zone.

Re: Norfolk Island

There's an interesting survey marker:
https://geocaching.com.au/log/18250387
That matches up to the marker on the map at Point Hunter.
You might need to visit and check them out and if applicable, list them.

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here

How are you calculating what the multiplier is supposed to be? The straight maths from one geocache to another, dividing the total by the terrain* difficulty to get a multiplier is not the correct multiplier and will vary from one find to another. The ways and means of the dragons are secretive and ...

I believe there is an issue when publishing new caches. The terrain rate and difficulty rate reverts to 1/1 and takes a few edits to get it to accept the d/t you want. It also happens when you edit an old cache, the d/t reverts to 1/1.
Thanks for the report. This should now be fixed.

Re: Not able to log in

We try our best to help people with a self-service route. Right on the login page there is this helpful information:
All users:
If you cannot log in, you will need to go to the new GCA Forums and login there at least once.
Then you should be able to login here.
