Re: Trouble with the map

That's all Google Maps. I tried to do the same and it works for me so it could be a transient issue at the Google Map server end when it can't servce the image tiles.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

This morning's Daily Email includes a large number of new caches in the Mildura area. Part way through the list the hyperlinks to GCA and "other site" for all remaining caches in the email have ceased being hyperlinks and have reverted to simple text. (Not that I really care about checking out a fe...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

Thanks for that. It seems that the type has changed from "Lost and Found Event Cache" to "Lost and Found Event Caches". So we now handle both with and without a trailing s.

I thought you could only add the stickers to dragon zone caches. One is a virtual and one is a locationless?
You can add a sticker to any Geocaching Australia geocache, live, archived, any type at all. The only dZ involvement is what you trade to get them.

Re: What's new on Geocaching Australia

Thanks for the reports. With that information I have been able to make a fix so that shouldn't happen again. I've dropped the duplicates as well. BTW, just like a really good sticker, you can't peel it off and reuse it, they are permanent. You can add more than one sticker to a geocache. Others can ...

Re: What's new on Geocaching Australia

Yeah, not sure why that has happened. I've dropped one off. If this happens again, please let me know.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

Thanks. http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0/1 There's the problem. 1.0.1 of the GPX schema has a type that 1.0 does not have. They have never announced it as a new type and strictly they should have made 1.0.2 the version that included a new non-enumerated list value. But that's why we drop it in a...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

The type is: <type>Geocache|Event Cache</type> <groundspeak:type>Event Cache</groundspeak:type> The GPX file is a standard event type which imports fine on my machine. Can you please send me the GPX file you used as we may have a difference in the GPX versions which describe the geocache type differ...

Re: dragonZone Research Orbs

Sorry, but the solstice orbs are now complete. They run for 7 days through to end of the 24th of June. We may have missed the first day, but the solstice is now over and there is no catch up.

Re: Adopting out GCA caches

We have no adoption capability as the number of adoptions over the years is so small we focus our time on other things.
If you give me the codes (GAnnnn) and the new user (case sensitive) I can transfer them all over.

Re: dragonZone Research Orbs

Just time. They're all vectors (.svg) and need to be created in a way that has no transformations or matrix manipulations. They also need to be grouped and set as a symbol to work as a single file that has a viewBox into the specific areas. It's not impossible to learn, but they are quite tricky to ...

Re: 2020 Game of Games

I literally just had a great (not) experience with the postie who I saw pull up out front of the house. He pulled a couple of large envelopes out so I went outside to take them from him. He was just "signing our surname" for a "registered post" item before he was going to drop them in the letter box...

Re: dragonZone Research Orbs

Sooner or later, when the coffers build, yes, you will be able to trade for a real-world item. They will never be for sale and so the only way to get them is to build your bank of research materials and splurge when they are offered. We do have some other non-tangible tradable items on the way but t...

Re: 2020 Game of Games

With the appalling way that Australia Post handles mail nowadays I'm surprised they are getting there this fast. I'm not happy with letter delivery (or the price), but as it's a government mandated monopoly, we have no consumer choice on letters.
