Recently, in an isolated part of a park, whilst standing on a limb 3m up a tree in my casual business clothes, I was spotted by a passing muggle. He asked if I was ok. "Just counting possums" I said. "OK" he said, and walked on.
(My tally for the day was 1 possum).

Re: How many found in between home and your nearest unfound.
Nearest unfound 1.78km from home, 47 found caches within that radius (some are corrected coordinates, some are not though). If I find that one new traditional at 1.78, radius goes to 2.02 and found count to 67. After that there's a mystery which will be a bug-bear for some time (Squeaky's Heart). I ...

Re: Munzees!
I can confirm that you can't capture a non-deployed munzee. Honeysucker had one, I scanned it and it said it was not deployed. He then deployed it, I then scanned it and it worked. However I think there is a time delay before it shows up on the website map (I haven't confirmed this). Maybe this is ...

Re: Munzees!
I do this all the time :D When ever I come across one I cant "See" easily usually I take a photo of the Munzee (as it is under a seat or something) then simply scan the photo instead. 1000ft is the limit for now (300m) but this will be greatly reduced in the future I hear. I had this problem yester...

Re: Munzees!
It looks to me like you can log a munzee before it has been deployed. Can anyone confirm this? I captured one today less than an hour after it appeared on the map page, but the first capture was half an hour beforehand. I suppose it is possible that it can take half an hour between deployment and it...

Re: Google Streetview updated at last!
I added a note in my calendar in November 2009 to check streetview each month after I saw the Google car.
You can see me walking all the way down the street.

webhosting US$2/month
One of our customers today mentioned their web host, siteground.com.
They have a deal $US2.95 a month for unlimited data (storage and network). If you go to the payments page and navigate away, they pop-up an offer for $2/month.
I navigated away anyway, but thought it was worth sharing.

Re: Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
...this looks like the last of my concerns / annoyances with the Orgegon 450. Still plenty of annoyances for me. Why have only one "Next Stage"? The biggest being child waypoints not being linked to the cache. If they integrated the child waypoint feature, and allowed adding and editing them, they ...

Re: Garmin compass calibration
At least the Dakota still takes you in a straight line to GZ, the older Summit always produced a course that was a spiral, that was very frustrating in thick scrub. I did the big spiral with my Dakota in the bush recently. Very frustrating, when the straight line would have been an easy walk and th...

Re: Garmin compass calibration
I have been using a borrowed Dakota 20 for a few weeks. I found the electronic compass irritating and generally turned it off. It would jump wildly, and last weekend I couldn't get it to calibrate at all. However, I bought my own Dakota 20 earlier this week, and so far the compass has been excellent...

eTrex now $99
I saw in the junk mail this morning that Anaconda have the eTrex yellow on special for $99.
See http://www.anaconda.com.au/Specials.aspx?p=13
That's almost cheap enough for me to replace the one I've been using for over 7 years (which I got for free).
