Re: OpenStreetMaps now useless in a lot of areas.
It's rather heartbreaking that it has come to this. A small consolation is that the FOSM maps are unaffected, but now it's a true fork from the OSM data, and support effort will be split across the two projects

Re: Improving Moveable Caches
I'll take offence to that on behalf of the development team. There is no lack of will to fix them. Their location cannot be determined by programming. Sigh. Apologies C@W, it was meant half tongue in cheek, and I should have plastered the statement with suitable emoticons to signpost that. How abou...

Re: Improving Moveable Caches
So to summarise... There's a general recognition that moveable caches are broken, and lack of will to fix them :-k . Working within the constraints of what's available, I've kludged a GSAK macro that filters out all of the "probably in transit" moveables, which I've defined as: - It looks like a mov...

Improving Moveable Caches
I did a few caches around the city this morning, with literally dozens of movable caches showing up nearby. I checked the logs for each one on my GPS and as far as I could tell, they'd all been picked up and moved on. It was a tedious process, and as I sat in the heat later on at home, feeling a bit...

At least you're consistent in your arbitrariness. And we're still off topic.caughtatwork wrote:Nope. We act arbitrarily depending on mood and time of day (and you're off topic).

Re: Geocacher banned on unfair terms (IMO anyway)
Can anyone else see the irony in this thread? Nope. Couldn't spot it. I've checked for hidden text, converted text to numbers, performed a frequency analysis on the text looking for encryption or steganography, and checked the EXIF tags on the images. It's well hidden - what's the difficulty rating...

Re: Munzees!
There is a GSAK macro out that grabs the basic info off the website & puts it into GSAK for you, don't ask me where exactly (I'm at work & can't access it at the moment) but it is somewhere in the Munzee forum. Sounds like the one posted by rutson here - http://www.munzee.com/forums/index.php?topic...

Re: GSAK Corrected Coordinates
The cache would have already been on the Oregon, part of a much larger file. That's a problem as the GPS may pick up the cache from either file, and it sounds like it's used the details from the larger file in this case. You'll need to try it with a cache that's not already in that file, or remove/...

Re: Big Matt is an idiot - Your help required
I'd just suggest using de-ionised water in preference to tap water, to minimise the introduction of any more impurities into the device (as they'll be left behind when the water evaporates).Calypso62 wrote:2. Immerse phone in a bucket of fresh water for a couple of hours
