Re: Garmin Dakota 10 and Google Earth?

Are they actually being imported and not visible, or is there an error message appearing which may help identify the problem? Jamie, You can save your waypoints and tracks into a garmin file (i.e. MPS for GDB format) and then convert the file to a KML or KMZ format, using a program GPSBabel (http://...

Re: Floods in Australia

Just be aware that these figures should not be used to make judgement calls. Far less than 60cm of water on vehicles and less than 15cm for humans can wash people away, based on the water velocity. Let's stay away from placing numbers on an environment that is dangerous. Swiftwater has a definition ...

Re: A missing cache, a fluke discovery, and a help request.

Grab your GPSr, change the position format to UTM, then enter the details in a WP....the extra information left out of the full coordinates will become apparent when entering it. :P You can even mark a temporary WP near Curtis Island, then edit the coords to suit this information....should not be fa...

Bit buggy in the registering of an account. If the HANDLE is already taken, the following incorrect statement appears:

An account already exists with that email address. Why don't you try logging in?

Re: The New GCA Cache Icons Poll!

What's with the new island shown in the Multi icon? :| I feel that the newer icons are trying to push too much detail into such a small icon, keeping it simple works for me. A partial change is my choice with icons such as the letterbox and beacon being a possible change. Thanks for asking. =...

Re: One find every 56 seconds....

Is powertrail spelt with one "f" or two? :-k

I believe it was discussed recently in regards to the World record for cache finds in 24 hours, though i'm still unsure how big the logbook is for 300+ finders of these caches, maintenance would be fun. [-(

Re: "Sent from my mobile device"

I think that mobile logging has a lot to offer if it keeps developing. Rather than isolating you from the caching community, it has the ability to unite cachers. I would like to see a feature that alerts you of other cachers nearby. This could be as simple as letting you know someone just logged a ...

ANT, ZigBee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and some cordless phones all use the 2.4 GHz band (as well as 868- and 915 MHz for regional variants in the latter's case), along with proprietary forms of wireless Ethernet and USB. Wi-Fi/ZigBee and Bluetooth employ Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) and Frequency...

Re: Cheap custom stamps - $4 shipped

Received mine today after being inspected by Quarantine and passing. \:D/ For something coming out of Hong Kong, the quality was acceptable, however the quality control was poor. The first letter on either side have been cut off even though the program used to design it should take care of that. :ev...
