Re: Event stacking

How odd they registered the account in December and had to wait this long for you to make a comment they could link to that hilarious avatar. On the event stacking topic, multiple events at the same location on the same day does seem a bit like a cheap way to inflate find (or hide) numbers. I...

Short list for me! My first find was "Only The Good..... Re: Unfortunate first geocaching experience

Damo, what do you mean illegally searched? Police have the power to search without warrant any vehicle in a public place where they suspect the driver or occupant of the vehicle may have committed an offence ;) Well I did a turn on a suburban dead end road and was stationary indicating my intention...

Re: Unfortunate first geocaching experience

Just bad luck with your timing. I got pulled over by QLD police and had my car (illegally) searched once just because I missed an address i was driving to and did a u-turn at the same time they were doing one down the street and they thought I was fleeing. Don't worry too much about it. Bury your he...

Re: App for iPhone

OK, found GeoSphere on itunes, will check it out Does it really pick up GCA caches? Yes it does. Under data, select add bookmark and put in the URL for the relevant gpx file. Eg: http://geocaching.com.au/caches/gca/au/nsw.gpx Then you can import the caches. I've had the app for a couple of years an...

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................

...... you're searching for a cache in a very seedy Melbourne laneway. The hint says it's in a hole in the wall but there are some covered by bags of garbage and cardboard boxes. You move them and get down on your hands and knees in the filth and feel inside a hole. Just as your fingers touch somet...

Re: Java Geocaching programs for mobiles

I used the Trimble Geocache navigator on a Nokia for quite a while. Did a good job even without phone coverage, entering coordinates manually while I was traveling overseas. http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/Products/GeocacheNavigator/ Not sure what they are doing with it though as it seems to only be ...

Re: Iphone battery life?

If you get a portable charger get something with a decent capacity too. I have a car charger with a little removable battery pack that would only top up 20% of the battery. Waste of time! I now have one of these which while slightly larger than the phone is small enough to stash in a backpack pocket...
