Go to the Report Site Issues Here forum (the one immediately under this one).

Re: Idea: Links to personal stats without username

The only issue I can see is what would the facebook preview screenshot show, if the username isn't identified. I don't know enough about how fb previews work, is it a live shot of the image or a static one it captures when the user makes the post.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

I was doing my regular update of cache logs for ACT/NSW tonight and noticed this error message. Unknown log type, set to Noted: GC87RA8 'Event Announcement'. Please advise a site administrator. I don't know if this is a new way GSAK might be flagging it before I export, or if something else has chan...

Re: Locationless Caches

Going back to the problem of not knowing how to find them again when you remember to photo something that matches one you thought was in the list somewhere, perhaps the solution would be to add public tags to them. To use cantanga's example from last year, perhaps if a few tags were added like "semi...

Re: Oh my! What has happened in NZ?

A good addition, I see you must have used some smarts to avoid duplicates of ones that had already been manually added by myself and others as we came across them. Easier than studying the maps if/when I next get back there.

Re: Finding Own Caches

I don't suppose these sorts are the same that log archived caches that are clearly stated as being transferred to GC? If I wanted people to log such caches on both sites I would have left the GCA ones active. That's not playing the game the way it's meant to be played. [-X Maybe when archiving a ca...

Geocaching Gurus

Responding to another thread where a newcomer was asking for advice, I suggested the Geocaching Guru function at http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Geocaching_guru But I also realised that some people who have volunteered in the past to take on the role may no longer be active (or even around). Shou...

Re: just found geocaching, have some questions

Also, look for events in your local area. That way you will meet some other people who will be happy to come along with you to find some in the area and help show you what you are looking for. You can also look at this page for "Geocaching Gurus" in your area who are people who have offered to help ...

Re: Finding Own Caches

I will find my own moveables once they have been moved, sometimes more than once if they have moved to a different location. Locationless I haven't really bothered listing myself, I guess you could "cheat" by listing one you know you could find a lot of something because there are a lot in your area...

Re: Beacon and Podcache dZ Bonus

True - I was thinking the only way I could do it would be to set up an access point at home that when you connect has a certain splash page giving you further info on the final hiding spot. I think I have an old one here that would allow me to do that, my main ADSL router won't let me run a second S...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

This caused me some confusion so I made this: https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Uploading_logs#Log_Date_Issues OK, I am probably almost as confused as I was before :? but is there a fix? Like a GSAK macro that will strip the time from the data before the GPX export or set it to something sensible...

Re: Report Site Issues Here

On a similar vein when I do imports to help keep the db up to date, I often see messages saying Updated date of log or similar. Whether this is because they have previously been imported and since amended by the finder on the other site I haven't been able to work out.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

I got the same 2 come through, at which point I turned off my notification for new Locationless at least temporarily in case the whole database was going to come down.
