Fire Safty - warnings on your mobile phone

After having a chat to FireSafe and also, just now, a lengthy chat to CFS hotline people I have some info to share re fires and notifications which are applicable if you are out caching.... Might be of use for some. CFS Alerts that get sent to mobile phones to warn you of a fire are linked to TOWERS...

Mac and GSSK

Has anyone owning a Mac ever used either Parallels or Bootcamp with regard to GSAK? If you did how did you find them re effectiveness and ease of use?

Re: Leaving cash good or bad ??

Like giving a loved one money for a birthday present, it does seem like the easy, no-thought option. I guess there's a justification if there's a swap in a cache that you really, really want but aren't carrying any swag of your own... Sometimes ....you might have a child with you....sometimes you d...

Re: Helpful Hints for Newcomers

I'd just add three things to all that wonderful advice. 1. Always let someone know where you are going....well at least roughly. If you are going to be out in the scrub alone or walking near cliffs...tell someone. You never know! 2. If you are heading off into the scrub or there are several caches t...

Re: Roof Racks??????

Yup--don't want tent attached to trailer. Just roof racks attached...so we can carry the folded tent and take it off and put it up on the ground when destination is reached. Our problem is at 2metres long it won't fit either in the car or in the trailer. If it goes on the trailer assuming roof racks...

Roof Racks??????

I am just wondering if anyone can offer advice here, as google is not being my friend? We would like to get an Oz tent and it needs to go a roof rack as it won't fit in the car. We also have a little enclosed trailer. (About 5 ft) I am wondering if we could legally put a roof rack upon the trailer? ...

Re: R U OK - Depression & Geocaching.

I seldom have time to come to the forums and did so today for another reason....but saw this first and ...I just have to comment. Caching has saved my soul and my sanity! In the past few years I simply do not know WHAT I would have done had I not been introduced to this absolutely wonderful sport. P...

Re: Minimalist Cache Logs -- Opinions Wanted

I know sometimes people are on hols and if they don't log from a phone have 100s to log when they get home. I understand and accept one liners, cut and pasted into a variety of cache logs. I hate reading "99th out of today's 117 etc.">> boring comment but accepted. I also accept and understand the r...

Re: You know you're a Geocacher when............................

When you can't cache for long periods you feel intense feelings of withdrawal, depression, the world is not the same.
