Re: 2017 PLANNED MEGA EVENT - ALICE SPRINGS-NORTHERN TERRITORY

I've seen a few Grand Vitara's come into the pub when I've been working up there that have either been across already or are headed that way. What sort of fuel consumption do you get when the zook is working hard and how big is the tank?

Not many locations for a mega let you cross the Simpson on the way from the east coast....

If you're planning a trip to this there are so many better ways to get there than on the bitumen if you have the right gear.

Cache on the Canning Stock Route in need of help.

If anyone's attempting the CSR in what's left of this season, or you know someone who is, the cache at Thring Rock needs a new container. It's not mine, mine's in an ammo can which would be ideal - $9 well spent! The cache owner hasn't logged on for a while but as there aren't many remote caches in ...

Never found one of these with a TB tag attached, or as a swap :(

You have either achieved legend status in the minds of mere mortal male cachers everywhere.....

Or you didn't do this simultaneously....

Don't forget to try a good Quandong Pie at the Parachilna Pub or that little cafe at Blinman. Brachina Gorge is a sensational spot to bush camp for a few days too. We had the heat exchanger under the bonnet and had our shower with a curious kangaroo. No shower tent needed - no one else there. Bliss....

Drove past this today. Didn't even bother stopping. Face it with a description this appealing why would someone stop? Have to drive a little further than normal for this job. Figured a cache drop on some of these would be a good idea. -----------------------------------------------------------------...

You mean if it looks like, smells like, then it probably is?

Or if the cap fits then wear it...

I agree.

That can happen with regular/multis with a similar startpoint as well, or GC/GCA caches placed in the same spot (not that there is an easy solution for that issue).
Yeah there is. Don't worry about the GCA ones....

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes it's worth doing the rounds of the bins in the nearby area, as well as looking over fences & behind bushes as they'll clean the purse out and dump it.

My 2c

...those caches you don't think much of, are better than sitting at home doing nothing... This may be so but who said they'd be doing nothing? I have lots of valuable things to take up my time around home, most people do. I often wonder if "numbers cachers" maybe driving around all day doing seemin...

Yeah I know I could place another one within 161 metres. It's a different issue as to whether I could actually bring myself to do it. As to Damo's post. The Earthcache must be okay Damo because it's not a Virtual (Bull-cough...) Team Rubik, you are more than welcome to come to Gippsland. The Earthca...

This debate has been going, and will go on for years. I set out when I started caching in a town with no other local cachers. I placed a few with more effort put into them than many I'd found - I was fortunate that I struck up a friendship with Embi early and was encouraged or coached at times which...
