Re: Someone - please look after my SA caches

#-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o Here I stand again before you with tail firmly between my legs. It is not that I am a bad man, neither am I disorganised - I am just very forgetful and when people's emails arrived with offers of help for my caches I suspect they were read and appreciated but then sadly f...

Someone - please look after my SA caches

Having moved to Queensland 2 years ago and with no short term plans of return, I need someone to take responsibility for my caches as they are slowly but surely becoming defunct. Unfortunately I am also caching less due to other more equine interests. Please email me if you are willing to look after...

Mine 'arrived' today and is headed to Lanxi, China.

Hang on I had better research where that is and see if there are any caches there ...

Well, it is a city in the north of China. There is one cache anywhere near it - it is a virtual cache some 60km to the south-east.

Curious...

I hope I haven't overstepped the mark but I have added some code to the HTML Wiki page that (albeit a bit kludgily) encodes and decodes hints using Javascript and forms. But ... it don't work properly coz I don't know how the page is set up - maybe it will help people with this ... I have left it th...

To the uninitiated it may seem like a huge advantage but most courses have distance markers on everything from poles to sprinkler heads. Having the GPS might actually save time ina golfers round as he/she will not be pacing out distances from the nearest distance marker!

I experienced this joy just a week or two ago. The GPS was a 'purpose built' Garmin module with the course 'landmarks' programmed in. all you had to do was park the cart next to the ball and provided it was facing in the appropriate direction the GPS told you the distance to the nearest appropriate ...

Is there an easy way (oh dear - why did I say that) to create a filter which finds the x caches closest to a given position.

Typically where x is an integer - actually it is max_waypoints for my GPS.

Thanks

Hmmm GIN51E has thrown us a curly one there... If we can get the bug to Adelaide before the Test here it can be in Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test too (tickets and accomodation booked) and then how it gets to Sydney for the 1 day game GIN51E is attending is anyone's guess. Maybe it can go via Canb...
