I had a few on iTunes on an old computer, which will be tricky to recover, but if no one else can help you give me a call and I will have a go at retrieving them.

Re: Vantage Point not communicating with Geocaching.com

Looks like it is a Magellan connection issue then. No one maintains that program anymore so it is unlikely to be fixed.

Vantage Point not communicating with Geocaching.com

Does anyone here use the Magellan mapping program - Vantage Point? If so would you know if there is a connection problem between Vantage Point and Geocaching.com? When I click on the Geocaching icon (in the Partners section of the tool bar) and then click on "Pocket Queries", or "Create Filter" or "...

Re: Codeword

... GA 11051 is a history cache not a virtual, hence the requirement for the codeword Oh - I see. However when I open the cache using GSAK (offline) it comes up as a Virtual with the "ghost" character as well. But I see that when you view the cache on-line, it says "History" Got a bit of catching u...

Re: 2017/2018 Summer Game

Just logged 2 Victorian caches (I'm registered in NSW) and then saw the points earned in the "Claims" section.
Question though - How do I know if I have been awarded the additional 50% in points due to finding a cache outside my state?

Re: Codeword

OK - it's all fixed. Found what I had to do to get the codeword, but it wasn't working. CO has since fixed and it the virtual is now logged.

Codeword

First time logging a cache for a long time in GCA
We just visited a "Virtual" cache and now trying to log it I am asked for a "codeword". Where do I get a codeword for a virtual?

NSW Hidden Ranges

Looking at the Hidden Ranges for NSW, both the 500 and 1000 per PQ indicate that caching started in NSW on 4 April 1984! I guess it doesn't make any difference unless there were caches listed prior to 18 May 2000 - now tell me that it can't be otherwise Lane Cove gets to be downgraded as Australia's...

Re: Newbie thread: Which Magellan handheld GPS to buy?

Is this correct? Has anyone upgraded? http://www.greatwalks.com.au/news/magellan-releases-new-explorist-gps-maps Now that is interesting. However I can't see how to download for free as mentioned in the article. Update: I spoke to Magellan Support and found that the free upgrade was only for newly ...

Re: Newbie thread: Which Magellan handheld GPS to buy?

Yes Geoff - that is a possibility (looks a bit old though). I am also looking at this site http://maps4me.net/index.php?language=en, but haven't been desperate enough as yet to really go into it.

Re: Newbie thread: Which Magellan handheld GPS to buy?

I haven't looked into the maps issue yet. I'm sure they'll put out updated maps eventually, but will that mean more $$ :( Well - I wouldn't hold your breath!! Have a look at this announcement on one of the Explorist forums: http://www.exploristforum.com/forums/general-510-610-710/bad-news-from-jeff...

Re: Newbie thread: Which Magellan handheld GPS to buy?

... I went with the 710 and love that too, it's the complete unit, does everything I want and more.. That's what I think as well - I went from juggling a GPSr, a PDA, a phone and a camera and now just go around with a GPSr and a phone. I've never owned a Garmin, I'm sure they're great, but I'm very...

Re: Newbie thread: Which Magellan handheld GPS to buy?

I can't remember totally, but I think you need to download Magellan Drivers so that the PC will recognise your GC Explorist. You definitely have to download "Magellan Communicator" so that you can download caches direct from the GC.com web site. Have a look at the GC online manual page 30.

Re: Query won't work

Thanks Craig - I tried it again and it came up with a blank graph for NSW. I tried it for NT and it worked fine (and fast) so I guess NSW it is just too much for the server?

Has now worked - thanks
