Gallipoli 2015 / Gelibolu 2015
I was fortunate to be drawn in the ballot to attend the ANZAC Day Centenary commemoration at Gallipoli this month 8) If anyone here is also attending, or aware of any other geocachers that are attending, Facitman and I are running a brief event during the night before the Dawn Service http://geocach...

Re: Those Badges and those Darned logs!
On a personal note, the length of my logs usually corresponds to the quality of the cache. If the CO has put some effort in, then I'll reciprocate by putting some effort into my log. I refuse to wax lyrical over an eclipse tin thrown under a bush but I've been known to go overboard with praise for ...

Wedderburn 2012 - what a great event
I returned home earlier this evening after attending the Wedderburn 2012 event on Sunday What a great event 8) The quality of the caches hidden for the event and others in and around Wedderburn made it an absolute pleasure to travel a few hundred km to attend the event and gave me renewed hope that ...

Re: App for iPhone
I like Geosphere ... Apparently it also allows in field logging, something I don't worry about as I can't be bothered typing a decent log on an iPhone keypad. I use Geosphere pretty much exclusively now, especially as it includes all of the caches / games I am interested in (GCA / Munzee) as they a...

Re: Full Logs
"Covert Hypnosis" was the longer cache name in the circle of cachers I spent a lot of time caching with, Followed closely by "Black Legend" and "Kelly Haunts". Since then I have abbreviated it to "C@H". .... which I always interpret initially as caught@home Me Too! :D ... He would NEVER be caught a...

Re: Some BIG caching days ahead?
Powertrail ... what's that? :P On 8 February 2005 Facitman and I set the Australian record for finds in a day by finding 43 caches in eighteen hours. We didn't have multiple vehicles, mapping GPSr and we were both present at every find and log. We even spent nearly an hour on one multi  That ...

Re: costs to use nearmap now?
Nearmap was regularly used by the Government body that I work for ... until the middle of last year when the directive NOT TO USE ANYMORE was received  I am not surprised that they are charging ... They are trying to stay in business :| I suggest you tell your teacher that not many major orga...

Did the logging rules change and nobody told me?
This FOUND log popped up on a cache I DNFed a couple of weeks ago (and have been watching since) Log Date: 9/29/2011 Could feel the cache with the tips of my fingers. Any attempt to retrieve failed. Container is non-ferrous as my magnetic extraction tool would not grab it. I couldn't find a long eno...
