Re: Burke & Wills Project
Not sure if I'm posting in the right area, but I've just gotten back from a road trip out Innamincka way. Picked up several Burke and Wills virtuals, as well as some of the traditionals out that way. I went with my youngest son Jeremy, who I'd gotten to read the Burke and Wills books by Sarah Murgat...

Re: Left in the dark... (night-cache) GC1YQBG
It did end up being a bit more adventurous than planned! The learning lesson was that it's perhaps prudent to assume that the creek will always be higher on the way back even if it has already been raining (ie surely it can't go higher than it already is!) 8-[ . The worst bit was trying to hang onto...

Re: Left in the dark... (night-cache) GC1YQBG
Hi Soltus, I live nearby and have done this cache a couple of years ago. I'd be happy to go for a walk to find it again, as it's been a while since last located. I'm free Thursday night and possibly Friday. My mobile number is 0420 960 548 if you are still looking for volunteers for this cache. best...

Re: Sydney Cachers entering a Winter slumber??
Still awake and active, but in my case I'd need to get a visa to enter this part of Sydney. Are there even caches outside the Shire?

Re: Trig points - a general discussion
Sorry, just thought of another question that's been nagging me about trigs too...If the trig in the pic is the goal, how critical is it to get myself or proof of myself (eg GPS) into the pic?

Re: Trig points - a general discussion
I've started chasing trigs a few months ago, and the watertanks are definitely a bit of a grey area for me. Typically I've gotten as close as I can and taken a pic in front of the tank (and yes, done from the car in some!), but as these are generally featureless, this might not be the best way to go...

Thanks CraigRat! I thought I'd eliminated that as the problem...Caught out on the basics. Thanks very much for checking and helping, it's working fine now.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Hi all, I'm hoping you can provide some advice. I'm trying to import my finds gpx file into GCA, but it doesn't update. I've tried several times using the wiki for guidance, including building a gpx file out of GSAK, but still no luck. Logs up until 25/5/2006 are fine, it's the ones from there on. A...

Re: Batteries
Hi Cantanga, Ideally stick with the mAh rating, the higher the better. In my house we're on the Energizer Nickel Metal Hydride, much, much better than the old Nicad cells. The only downside is that you should charge the batteries as soon as they go flat to avoid the old 'box full of flat recharge ba...

Hi Hoojar,
