Re: Letterbox Hybrid

Could the reason for not being too many around is that everyone sees them the same as a traditional cache, the only difference being a stamp with the log? I looked up on Gc what the definition of what makes a Letterbox hybrid cache - Letterbox Hybrid Letterboxing is another form of treasure hunting ...

Problems trying to log a cache on GCA

I went looking for this gnome yesterday - http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2868 and failed to find it, I tried logging my visit but get nothing but this error message everytime I hit "Log the cache". "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare gca_format_html() (previously declared in /var/www/site/gca/include/g...

Re: FTF acknowledgements in listings

Were you the first to log, if not the cache owners may have just assumed the others were FTF? I was first to log. Logged the find on WhereIgo on the 4th around 2pm, and again on the GC.com listing on the 5th around 10am. There is a bit more to the story. The cache was placed as one of many for an e...

Re: FTF acknowledgements in listings

I had never really thought about this subject before as not many, if anyone around NE Vic has this on their cache page. Well, I didn't take much notice until today. I was quite proud of my FTF achievement yesterday on a newly listed WhereIgo cache (I had never done one before and the first one I hav...

Re: Potential NZ MEGA Event 2012 - is there sufficient interest?

I had to put "2012 too far away" as well. Been to NZ a few times now for work (actually heading to Christchurch this week for approx 10 days  )

Will have to see once it gets a bit closer, all depends on airfares etc.

Hope it goes ahead, would be great to see another Mega event.

Re: Magellan eXplorist GC

Does anyone know when the more sophisticated version of the Magellan eXplorist GC is going to be released? Apparently there are 3 more capable versions coming out which will have an SD card slot and therefore capable of loading detailed mapping. My eXplorist 600 is slowly dying and I am resisting g...

Re: eXplorist driver problem

I have had this same problem, and to fix it was as easy as fiddling with the small nodules on the plug that screws onto the GPS. On mine the small nodules sometimes get stuck (I think they are spring loaded in the plug), it might just take a couple of prods to free it up and it pops back out again. ...

Re: Reporting Cache Finds

i.e. If the cache when found revealed had a "CODE" that the finder would log "on-line". The only problem would be of "First to Find" being, who got on-line first, would get the kudos. Another problem arises too with once a cacher knows the code, it can then be easily passed around to others so it c...
