Re: Garmin GPSMAPS 62s from overseas
Thanks everyone. The only reason I was looking at getting it from overseas is that I can get it almost $100 cheaper. Although their are some good sales out there and I will keep looking around.

Garmin GPSMAPS 62s from overseas
I'm looking to upgrade to a Garmin GPSMAPS 62s and was wondering about purchasing from overseas. Will this effect my maps? It says it has a built-in world wide base map..will that be ok for basic caching? I'll admit the different maps sometimes confuse me a little

You get a call from your ex who is with the defence force and is being deployed to help with the clean up after Cyclone Yaris. Your eldest son lives with him and you are needed to go and stay for a few days until other arrangements can be made. Instead of packing you create pocket queries for the ro...

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who took part.
As someone new to caching I must admit I was a bit hesitant about moving a gnome..what if I didn't do the co-ords right and he got lost? But I have totally enjoyed this and can't wait for the next event!

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software
Thanks Briggbottoms! I didn't know I could do it that way...makes it sooooo much easier :) Still having a few problems. Interestingly enough those problems seem to relate to geocaching australia files only. Geohunter seems to be having trouble loading them...it gets to a certain point then crashes. ...

On Christmas day you leave your house...not to go and attend a christmas lunch, visit family or spread holiday cheer but to rescue a gnome from rising water.

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software
Did a master reset and downloaded everything again and it's all working well again :-k I don't have an active sim card in mine as I use it only as a gps. I use saved locations as my way of in-car navigation as navigation from geobeagle and geohunter doesn't work for me unless I have an active sim in...

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software
geohunter doesn't like me :? It refuses to upload anything. I did a complete reinstall of the application and when I try to sync it says "Error reading file 'Could not list directory /sdcard/downloads'. GeoBeagle on the other hand has no problems at all. I have double checked the name of the file et...

When you see people rummaging around in the bushes at the local park and go over to say hello instead of calling the police.

Re: Have you cached on Christmas Day?
I headed out on Christmas day to rescue a gnome from possible rising waters. The man in a 4wd driving past looked a bit startled when I came wading out of the trees holding a gnome

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software
I had quite a few problems with this. I formatted the whole thing several times with the same problem. Formatting the sd card while it is in the phone and then resetting the phone worked for me. It was one of the most frustrating issues ever.

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software
For some reason my gps is out by a fair way. I live at no. 5 and it gives my position as no. 7....sometimes no.9! Does anyone know how I can fix this? My maps are all up to date and it aquires satellites no problems. When I'm using it for in-car navigation it's ok but it's an issue when I'm on foot,...

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software
yep doing that. I've downloaded 10 caches from geocaching.com and uploaded them from the sd card. No problems. I have tried GeoBeagle and GeoHunter. They both work fine except I can not use turn-by-turn navigation with either of them unless I have an internet connection. That's ok because I can just...
