Re: Very handy item on Zazz today
Edited post for clarity
Sorry to disappoint you, but your previous post still makes it look like today's Zazz is a connectivity pack of some sort.
Today's Zazz is something like this:

As far as I am...

I hope not!

Sorry. I just couldn't help myself. I promise to keep myself in check in future.

Re: Geocaching, google it.
I have a button on my browser that does a google search for "geocaching", and whenever I want to go to the Geocaching Australia website I click that button, and then follow the google link to Geocaching Australia.
GCA is at the top only because you are using www.google.com. au [/b].
If you ...

As to what defines a "cacher" is subject to personal opinion. In my personal opinion, he is not a cacher. Planting a couple of GCA caches doesn't qualify someone as a cacher, especially when one of them was placed just 2m from an existing cache. That is the action of a mischief-maker, not a c...

As someone who has helped plan and execute one of these cache raids, I can really appreciate the effort that is necessary to pull it off. Congratulations!
Was it a midnight to midnight raid? In other words, were the caches logged on the same date?
The really interesting thing about this raid...

I can assure you that catching up that last 200 or so is not a trivial task, especially if the one ahead of you decides to make it difficult! You know who I'm referring to!

The number 500 conveys a different meaning and would introduce the question of why isn't it showing 512 which is the actual number.
Fair point, but the digits would also be accompanied by the standard text, like '500 or more caches found'.
Anyhow, there doesn't seem to be an overwhelming mo...

My suggestion for levels is:
. . . stuff deleted . . .
I like the number idea though. But issued in the same way as stars.
Sounds good to me. I reckon digits is the way to go, if we are to persist with the system.
I never was suggesting live numbers. I think what Sam suggests is the...

I am no good at quickly decoding puzzles. KISS - keep it simple stupid - is my motto 8) Sounds good. So, the simplest system would be to go with Pesky's digits suggestion. No puzzles to work out. Simple, easy-to-read numbers, colour-coded to indicate the relative size of the number, but without the...

If I had the option I'd go digits rather than stars. :)
Good suggestion, Geof. The simplest suggestion escaped us all. Since we only have five positions to play with, simple digits, colour coded to represent significant milestones like would seem to be the best option:
White numbers for 0...

Thanks for the feedback. I like Cached's system also, although I'd like to see it with big stars. They would have to be wider as well as taller, and we sould run out of screen real estate pretty soon. There are only 95 horizontal and 25 vertical pixels to play with. As to the shooting stars, they re...
