Stats and logs from external sites
Would the current issues described in the locked announcement "Stats and logs from external sites" explain why the "top caches by find" stats graph for Victoria for all sources works, but the same stats graph for Australia for all sources does not? Specifically, these: http://geocaching.com.au/stats...

Re: Need some help!
I might be able to... I'm in footscray now, have to head out to port melb a bit later this arvo... What did you want done, just hold onto it and catch up somewhere? Yep, exactly. I understand that the log book and some contents are lying in the alcove where the cache used to be. The container has g...

Need some help to rescue a CBD geocache!
My CBD geocache has been reported as having a missing container, with the contents and log in it's hiding place. I'm working on a contract in Bayswater at the moment and won't be able to get to it till late tonight. Is anyone able to go and rescue the remaining contents and the log book for me? It's...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Imported. Cheers! Do you use GSAK? Do you have GSAK BETA 8? Go get it. Update the logs for your cache. Export a GPX file (no child waypoints). Yep. Yep. Already have it. Done. Done. Import it. Tada :-) I can do this to the CGA database? My next inclination was to ask where and how. However I shall ...

Re: Oh, I want this implemented on all cache listing sites NOW!
I have google spell check installed so that when I write things online (like this) they get spell checked... I have a firefox-spell-checker as well. English isn't my first language and without that checker you would read way more weird spelling than you already do  at least this time I got...

Re: Oh, I want this implemented on all cache listing sites NOW!
Excellent point PBL. As a topic for another thread: it would be nice if some CO's had their cache placements, multi's and puzzles beta tested before they were published. sushilord, you're going to hate me for this, but you don't need an apostrophe for "COs" or "multis", as an apostrophe is not requ...

Re: Oh, I want this implemented on all cache listing sites NOW!
Written communication is a skill and can, in almost all cases, be learned. Refusing to do so, and still perpetrating linguistic car wrecks on the rest of us, means accepting that they're prepared to be judged by their works. Your whole post is a very eloquent and cogent argument that I will remembe...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Hello Mr Tatwork, I noticed today that my CBD cache "Welcome to Melbourne" has only got 343 finds according to the GCA databsae, but CG says that it has 363. Is that just the normal lag for database updates at CGA, or is something more a-happening? http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc2gvr5/graph Thanks...

Re: Magnets strong enough for caching
I have been Geocaching for about 16 months now and in my timeI have seen many magnetic caches. I have been looking in many different hardware stores for magnets that you can just buy and stick in an eclipse container or sistema container, but I cannot find one :( . Can I please have an idea ...

Personal travel bugs & geocoins
Hello beautiful people. Can someone help me out here? I've noticed that some cachers have geocoins, or travel bugs (or even travel bug nametags) that they dip into each cache they find. I understand that the reason for this might be to track distances or something. My question is, why do people do t...

Re: The first Australian regular cache with 1000 finds?
I'm rather interested in the stats as well. I placed Welcome to Melbourne with the unashamed intention of going for finds records. I made it centrally located in a capital city CBD, large, easy to find and I gave it a name to attract visitors. It seems to have worked, because it's sitting at around ...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
We only have 191 of the finds at GCA. Why is that? Actually scratch that question - what I was really wondering is how do you get the data? You might need to run a GSAk macro over the cache at GC and then import all the finds. To what end would I do that? Where would I be importing the finds to?

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Is it just me, or has this graph not changed much recently... http://geocaching.com.au/stats/graphs/all/au/vic/1010_top_caches_by_finds I only ask, because "Welcome to Melbourne" (GC2GVR5) has had 230 finds since November so I thought it might appear here. This is what I see, (just in case this is a...

Re: Difference between my GCA density and a CG.com pocket query
You have 44 GCA caches within 10km of you. Did you take that into account? No. No I did not. I need to get stuck into those. Is the GC limit 10km or 10.999999999999999999999999999km? I specified 9 and 9.9 KMs and the results varied appropriately. 9.90Kms gave me 112. So I think that I need to grab ...

Difference between my GCA density and a CG.com pocket query
Peter (and the gang). I have been making use of the geocacher density radio stats to track how I am clearing out the caches near me. At the time of posting, my stats were: Within 10 km radius there are 394 caches (158 unfound: 40.1%) Within 20 km radius there are 849 caches (538 unfound: 63.37%) etc...
