Re: Railway tunnel (or other tunnel) caches
A couple around Toowoomba - neither are in tunnels, but both are very close. Tunnel Vision GC1VQW9 - gives good views to a portal of one of the tunnels on the Toowoomba range. AFAIK of the 9 tunnels on the Toowoomba range, this is the only portal that is visible from public land. Dragon's Lair GCC49...

Re: Mobile Site browser testing, please help
Samsung Blackjack 2, Windows Mobile, 6.1, IE, unknown, Big Fat NO  Will the current mobile.geocaching.com.au stay? (even if ultimately moved to a different address). I love the way that site works for it's simplicity. By all means have a bells and whistles site for those that want it, but simpl...

Re: The 10 Year Anniversary Official Pathtags Rewards List
Received mine tonight. :D A very big thankyou to the folks at GCA for these. I've never seen pathtags before, but I think I could see myself starting a collection. These ones are very nice to have as firsts. Now must get out there and put a couple of more GCA caches out, and some advertising caches ...

Re: OT: mapping the 'spill' in your own area.
Wow! I never realised it was so big. Seeing in context to my home (and I live on waterfront) was sobering. Likewise. I also had a look at back in it's original location. Incredible the area it is covering. To bring back on topic, there are quite a lot of caches in the spill area. I found a log on o...

Re: group raids
Hmmm... I don't know the cache in question, but a cache of mine that was designed to be particularly challenging was subjected to a group raid some time back. (GC1KY1Y). Mixed feelings. On the one hand, it was flattering that I had created a cache that many people found difficult to solve, and was f...

Re: “Find your own cache”
One thing I find odd, is that I occasionally find caches a good 20+m from the posted coords. Myself and others will say coords well off in our logs to indicate a potential problem, but then you'll get other cachers who say "coords spot on" in their log. One in particular that I can think of, where G...

Re: Dual Cache Listing on GCA and GC.
Personally, I don't like the idea of dual-listing. If you want to increase the finds on your GCA caches, instead of listing them on GC, make a new GC cache nearby and put an advertisement in it for your GCA cache. Same thing happens with terracaching and navicache. Personally, I'm very impressed wit...

Re: gca.gpx broken.
Oops - it's not actually a log, but is in the cache body (I should have read a little more above and below).
Also, substituting with the XML escape sequence worked for my program, but GSAK still has a fit over it, so maybe it would be best to strip the nul character completely.

gca.gpx broken.
Just tried updating my offline cache database with a freshly downloaded gca.gpx (BTW, I love that GCA provides this feature), and started seeing weird errors about invalid characters. Since I'm using a program I've written, I thought the bug was mine, but GSAK complains too. A little bit of digging ...

Re: 2000 to 2010 = 10 years of Geocaching in Australia
By the way, I forgot to say that Topo maps of the area would be of help. Also there are 12 10th Anniversary Swaggies in amongst the 30 odd caches. Sorry if this is a hijack of the thread, but 10th Anniversary Swaggies? That sounds a great idea, but I'm not quite up with this swaggie thing though so...

Just showed my wife the last picture there of the car. Her response "The answer's no". Doh!
I often have my tomtom & pda (running pathaway) set up together, then get the garmin gps60 out for the last little bit, but that passenger setup is hardcore. I love it.

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
The site was built, and started listing caches to get away from the perceived big brother approach from the powers that be on the other side of the planet. If GCA takes to not listing caches in areas that the data suggests are banned for geocaching, then we have replaced one big brother on the othe...

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned
I can see fun and games for the site administrators in that a shape will be reject a cache, the owner will come in and bitch at an admin 'cos it's 10m outside the park boundary. One of the site admins will need to make a judgement call as to whether it's in or out. Potentially from 1,000km away and...
