Re: A short animated video explaining what a Burke and Wills geocache is all about.

Thanks for the refresher!
It's a while ago now, but we had a lot of fun placing our share of the traditional B&W caches. I'd like them to get a few more finds....

Re: How many is too many?

Thank you for all your hard work on this.

Do you need people to operate it? A team, perhaps? I'm happy to be part of whatever you need.

My computer skills are the "learn by rote" type. :(

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration

Okay. Do we need a team for this? What sort of workload do you think we might encounter?
I'm always happy to do my bit.

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration

Don't assume the site admins will be in a position or want to be in a position to do anything. There is only one admin that has access to delete logs. I don't want to be in a position where it's all put on one person or even a small group of people. Interest waxes and wanes and when all the admins ...

Re: Cache Owner Log Administration

I like the system the way it is.

I assume that admins would remove a log at cache owner request if it was obscene, or offensive against particular groups (such as racist remarks). I hope it doesn't come up too often. If it is frequent, we should do something about it, of course.

Do you mean real stickers, or the virtual kind?

Re: How many is too many?

I'm happy with the upcoming changes. I did do quite a few locationless and jigsaw caches during the COVID nightmare, and I am grateful to those who produced them for the rest of us, to help with our sanity. I do think that time has passed now, and we should be getting the site to something more work...

Re: Maintenance

If you track 'Needs Maintenance' logs and the caches with NM logs, wouldn't it mean more work for you, in checking them and reading the logs and deciding whether they are fixed or need archiving? I mean that your suggestion includes some work for someone to do - it wouldn't be automated at that poin...

Re: Maintenance

I was working on the premise that "needs maintenance" was a way to alert the cache owner to an issue without making it official, whilst "needs archiving" was a more official action. Exactly what happens if someone logs "needs archiving", now? Can you explain in simple terms what the difference is to...

Happy Easter!

It's good to see the rabbits' ears back on cache icons!

Thanks to those who make it so.

I hope everyone has a happy, peaceful Easter break.

Re: Future Games

I found reference to Snag the Tag in the GC forums (took me ages to even FIND the forums!!), and it seems to be an expensive game to participate in. There is a website called snag the tag, with information on it. I don't think it's 'us', really. It isn't anything to do with geocaching, as far as I c...

Re: Future Games

Calendars are expensive to produce. Between $15 and $20 for a monthly page calendar (i.e. 12 pages, one per month). We would need to work out how many to buy (the more, the cheaper so going "on demand" is not worth my time) and then sell for a decent profit of 100% markup. I simply cannot see too m...
