Re: Trigs with drones

You can certainly get some good pics of those reservoir trigs! Nice to be able to back the drone out and see the whole perspective of the landscape and where it sits. Interestingly too, you probably had your photo taken in closer proximity to this trig than anyone else. Without a drone you have to m...

Re: What's new on Geocaching Australia

I've just dropped a few stickers on some cool caches and the cache page is also showing two identical stickers, rather than just the one that I applied. I was using MS Edge browser when applying them. https://geocaching.com.au/cache/tp1099 https://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0337 https://geocaching.co...

Re: GeoArt Geocache Type (Coming Soon)

Great idea, I’m looking forward to hiding a series! Having the caches visible in both locations on the map, especially after finding the cache is excellent. Will there be a way to group a set of GeoArt caches (other than using a tag)? It would be nice to keep them all in a ‘collection’ so to speak. ...

Re: Unloved search

GSAK has filters built in that you can specify a value for "Not Found during the last _____ days." Project GC has something called 'Lonely' caches - but this only shows the value of the age of the cache in days / number of finds. Would be a pretty cool feature. I haven't seen it on other sites but d...

Re: 2019 enhancements in a nutshell

Thanks for all the work done this year. Love that the site exports GGZ from Queries. Also, thanks to all the cache owners out there that put some of their hides on this site, rather than the other one. I hope in 2020 that more cachers hear about the crazy bunch over here in GCA land and decided to c...

Re: Norfolk Island

There are a few trigs listed on an old map dated 1934 ( https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-232790462/view ). Who knows what they classified as a trig though. One called 'Buffet's Pole' was probably just that. A pole. Would be interesting to explore the island and check out these spots. Apparently there was ...

Sign me up in helping the Head Guardian figure out what all these mysterious happenings are about. I'm sure we will get to the bottom of it.

Re: Report Site Issues Here

I’ve found a couple of unlisted trigs lately and have created listings for them. I always enter “Geocaching Australia” in the Placed By field. Once I’ve entered all the details and submitted the listing, it goes live, but with two published logs. One dated 1/6/2019., and the other with the date expe...

Re: Games Suggestions - Golf Theme

I think this sounds like fun. I wonder if there’s a way of putting in a few unexpected surprises/penalties. E.g. a chance that players will get less/more than points than they were expecting. Weather it be random, or a gamble they can opt in for. Maybe if they find a certain cache type, they will ge...

Re: Geocaching Australia Senate - Feb 19

Hi, I'm Matt, I'm 39 - from Lismore, northern NSW and have been hunting little containers with my GPS since 2010. I regard GCA as my primary site for quality geocaching. I love the stats, the games and the community that we have here. I've sat in the background for quite a while however I do like to...

Re: Site Outage 9/1/2019

We really are lucky have developers with so much talent. What could have been an absolute disaster has been managed and fixed and now we're all back playing the game. Geocaching for me revolves around GCA - the stats, the caches, the games and the people here all put it well ahead of any other geoca...

Re: Dinosaur Moveable Game September 2018

I'll be in town tomorrow morning, I think a Tweed Bar view sounds like a great spot for Breakfast! I think any dinosaur hidden at the Kirra lookout would be reasonably well hidden from the average muggle, but there are some smart ones amongst them. That park look immaculate last time I was there. I ...
