Re: What Three Words
I think you can drill down to a 3m x 3m area – just need an extra char at the end. e.g. https://plus.codes/4RJ65XJ8+XX is 14x14m area https://plus.codes/4RJ65XJ8+XXG is a 3mx3m area It’s another interesting coordinate format. Would be pretty cool to have it in the GCA toolbox too if it’s not a heada...

Re: What Three Words
I’ve had to use What Three Words to find a couple of caches now. One on this site, and one on the other. I think it would be useful for both finders and hiders if it’s not too much trouble to incorporate.

Re: Where are we all from??? (introduce yourself) parts 1&2
Hi Don, I’m in NSW North Coast too. We usually host events every few months where the locals get together and meet up but ever-changing NSW Health Orders have halted that for now. I don’t use Geocube – I use a Garmin GPS mostly, but I have used an iPhone app called Cachly. You can import geocaches i...

Re: co-ords not making sense
G’day Hobes, If it doesn’t spoil your hide, you might need to provide the coordiates here in the forum in order to get some help. Coordinates can be written in a number of different ways. Google usually uses decimals degrees when you copy a location from their maps. (For example: -33.955501, 150.946...

Yes, that one is a beauty. Always kept painted to match the nearby lighthouse and it's own special information plate. The stainless steel vanes look so nice.

Re: Battleships
I've got a new GeoArt series and a collection of puzzles up here in Northern NSW which will keep me busy for the month. Thanks so much to the hiders!

Re: Future Games
I think the promotion of GCA and the benefits of hiding and finding caches on our site is integral to future successful games. If you’re the only GCA cacher in your area, adding just one or two more GCA players to your local mix will take the games to a whole new level. I like to promote GCA and it’...

Re: 2021 Planning
The small development team here at GA seem to be able to achieve far superior games and projects than other geocaching sites can. Looks like a fun 6 months ahead! Thanks to the developers for keeping the game exciting.

Re: Reverse Geocache Idea
Great idea to have something like this become a feature of the site. I played with GA8123 once and made something similar based of this cache: https://011235813.xyz/revtest . Didn’t get around to tidying it up and hiding anything though. It can be armchaired though the code and has no limitations on...

Re: Drone Cache (Split from original thread)
Here are a few examples of what I think could be fun, challenging drone caches. Each example below is quite specific as it’s an idea I’ve had from places in my local area that drone flying is allowed. Coordinates are given that lead to a quiet area of open parkland. The cache listing says that there...

Re: Drone Cache (Split from original thread)
I’d be hoping that drone operators would be following CASA regulations, whether they are using their craft for geocaching or any other reason . We have other government regulations to abide by when placing caches (national parks and the like) – this should be no different. Obviously, it shouldn’t be...

Re: Drone Cache (Split from original thread)
Here's how I think a drone cache could work. Would be great to have some discussion with the community on this. Like other Geocache types, GPS Coordinates are required. They can be the location of an initial waypoint/trailhead etc or can be the final coordinates of the cache. A drone cache requires ...

Re: Trigs with drones
Maybe we should have a drone geocache type where the cache is hidden using a drone and the find is made in the same way. Or there is a codeword on the cache that you need to make your log (with photo sans codeword as evidence). Now that’s an awesome idea! I think this could add some quality hides i...
