Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
My first GCA race (a late starter and non cache owner back then) - this was a fun theme! Time to send Grumpy out of the box in my office he's been for 15 years or so and into the wild blue yonder

Re: Clan Phoenix Chat
Hit as many as I could over the last week - so I've managed to level up from "Dragon Fodder" to "Peasant" - but sadly still haven't managed to win Victoria for team green...

Re: Velomap/Openmtbmap Experience?
I've been using the OpenMTBMaps for pretty much as long as I've been caching. They're easy to install (on Windows at least - a simple EXE file to run), detailed and able to be customised to suit your GPS screen type at installation time (eg. Wide lines for dull Oregon/Dakota screens). I'm a subscrib...

Got a slap over the wrist for a long lunch break trying to get a not-quite-FTF with a caching workmate.

Re: Armchair discoveries
Back when I first started using GSAK and BadgeGen I thought I'd never be able to make to to the lowly bronze level for TBs or GCs so hit Google for some TB images and discovered a few of them ("discovered on Google" or words to that effect) - I had seen the actual trackable tag/coin in the photograp...

Re: Find unloved caches in own finds?
It seems to work perfectly for GCA caches, but I just can't get it to work with GC ones. I get recent logs and upload My Finds queries but it just seems to a) Not come up with anything for the DateOfPreviousFind b) therefore only gives 0 for MonthsSincePreviousFind... :-\ Any ideas? :-$ You need to...

Re: Photos of GPS units
I prefer having to include GPS in photo (but as I usually use my GPS's camera so I just point them to example the EXIF info as proof of GPS @ location @ date/time if they want to get "picky"...) to having to include myself in the photo. That was one thing that annoyed me about many of the GC.com Cha...

Re: Small pens
I bought a pack of mini felt-tip markers that had a ring attached but sadly they're thick and hopeless at signing with, and the ring is attached to a plastic clip so can detach anyway... Still come in handy though

Re: Small pens
I had a great little pen from Japanese visitors to my workplace that was telescopic (single-stage) so would shrink to 3/4-1/2 it's length to fit in your pocket, but expand to make writing comfortable and thus perfect for caching. Sadly I lost it in the grass, etc at on of the caches I visited so hav...
