Re: Is it just me?

I can fill you in about the note c@w, its there because the CO posted notes instead of reviewer notes during the review process. Notes don't get automatically deleted when the listing is published. Some cachers drop trackables into caches pre publication and want to the notes to stay. The automatic ...

Perhaps as time goes on and newer caches are eligible we should rule out anything smaller than regular from being part of the challenge :D
Now that is an exceptional idea

Re: Ghosts of caches past on Nuvi maps

A nuvi poi file can be called anything you like as long as it has the extension .poi

I use separate files for different types of poi and just delete them and remake as needed.

I don't use the nuvi for geocaching other than to make a noise if I drive close to a cache location.

Interestingly the cache description appears to have been changed after it was published.

As they are locked to a GPS, if it breaks or you lose it. Gather up all your chirp thinggys and drop in nearest rubbish container.

Note to new cache placers - don't use Google Earth for the coords.
A better note would be to read the guidelines, where this can be found.

You as the owner of the cache must visit the site and obtain the coordinates with a GPS

ANT uses the 2.4Ghz Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band.

For the technically inclined, this pdf explains it.

Re: "Sent from my mobile device"

I tried the iPhone app with some city caches when I replaced the container for HH12 http://coord.info/GC1KN8E last week. For this one http://coord.info/GCXDDN I posted a found log and a photo. I wrote a short log and added the photo and sent the lot (so I thought). When I checked later I saw a log c...

If you check the cache attributes, a new one has been added under Equipment, Wireless Beacon.

That's one Jeremy alluded to.

Re: When cache placers go AWOL

You can log a disabled or even an archived cache. There is one on the northern beaches that is a left over from a long gone puzzle. Someone has since placed a trad within a few metres. I have found the original by mistake as have many others and not realised it until we got home and looked at the l...
