Re: Early idea for 2013/2014 race

How about a new cache type?? Like a "live moveable".. A few years back we managed to work out how to publish the tracking on my "spot" to put in the Burke and wills series. Unfortunately it never got to start, that's another story ;-( Since then the smart phones have come a long way, and there are s...

Re: Geosphere and GCA caches not loading hints

There are hints on the few I noticed.
They were bingo racers, and I was having trouble finding a couple, and from the app there is a link to open the website for the cache, I was going to log a DNf and noticed the hint was there, so subsequently found it.

Geosphere and GCA caches not loading hints

Hi guys, not sure which way to tackle this, ie if it is a site issue, or an app issue. I just noticed that geosphere doesn't load hints from the GCA site... I load the zipped gpx files directly from the website, by state, or the bingo zip from the caching games site. Is this better dealt with here o...

Re: I need to replace my Asus Eee

Check out the ultra books, still small, and pretty fast. Do you need windows? I think Asus make a xover android tablet with a removeable kb.. The ultra books start at around $600

Otherwise the little ones like you have with the atom processor start around $300..

Re: Who wants to do the water caches around Docklands,Melbourne?

Potential starter, pending weather I guess. Would be fun.

Does there need to be any special items required to paddle in that area, lights, high vis gear, flag etc??

Re: Coords in Word file to map?

I got gsac to do the export to macro last night, excellent, is there a way to get it show proximity from one point to the next closest?

I also worked out how to get it to strip the gc from the cache codes, so I can load a heap of caches onto my êtrex h. Very happy now!!!

Re: Coords in Word file to map?

Hi Bunya, go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/tutorials/waypoints.html here you will find how to create an excel file, take note of the top line of the sheet, with name/lat/long formatting, then you upload the file on the site and it will plot to co-ords for you...

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

I just have a quick question about the forum and logins. Has something changed in the last few days, requiring you to login repeatedly? this occurring on my iPhone. I am guessing that the forum server sees I am on a new ip perhaps, and wants me to re-authenticate?? I visit sites around melb througho...

Re: Caching games this year?

Sticking with bingo, you attend a "real" game of bingo at a location in a square on the grid. When you have attended enough games to cross off enough squares, bingo!!

First to finish wins..

Re: Caching games this year?

How about making a bingo board where numbers are placed in a grid across Aust.
When your piece lands in a square on the grid it gets that number. When it lands in the right ever so many, you get to jump up and wave your chicken wings yelling bingo....

Re: How are people managing pocket queries?

Roger that craigrat...

I think I have got my head around generating pq's now.

Is it worthwhile downloading all cache types, or do you all narrow down excluding the event caches??

Just for Vic it has taken 9 pq's, with the date range shrinking exponentially!!

Re: How are people managing pocket queries?

Thanks guys, I finally got a pq for SA to run, only after I am back home... It isn't really all that user friendly is it!! I guess like all things it just takes time, patience trial and error. Makes me think of a saying my grandad used to say all the time "experience is the fools own school". Makes ...
