Re: "Commercial" events?

Being described as "shonky" in a public forum.... yet more GCA threads to talk to the lawyer about later this week. I'm having trouble managing all these screen shots and dumps of GCA and Facebook threads. Still they paste nicely into Word as a permanent record. shonky ˈʃɒŋki/ Australian/NZinformal ...

Re: Geostuff, where are you?

Folks, if you have a query, please bear in mind that it is Xmas, and the massive rush has been on for some weeks. Please be patient. At the moment we are working until very very very late each night to get the huge volume of orders out promptly. And we are inundated with queries (mostly about tracka...

Re: A event for Introverts!

I recently DNFed my own event as I couldn't physically get to the GZ at the time. And to date there are zero attendees.

Re: SPot now has a reasonable contender...

I actually own one of each .... and I should call out up front that I am an official Australian dealer for both of them. Now, they are from the same company - but quite different offerings. Both devices are emergency location beacons of course. The advantage of the InReach is that it can not only be...

Re: Permanent ban on small, high powered magnets in Australia

Yes, it's toys only. This is the first Victorian interim ban introduced under the Australian Consumer Law’s product safety powers. The ban applies to small, separable or loose permanent magnetic objects: that are supplied as aggregated masses or in multiples of two or more; and that are intended or ...

Re: Effective Stealth Techniques

I love city town caching with lots and lots of muggles. Gets the adrenaline pumping. Much better challenge than a leaky sistema in a tree in the bush. A business suit is the best invisibility cloak there is. Just another middle aged office worker out in the street. While this is great - standing on ...

Memorial site - accessing TB locations through GC API ?

My mate Kev at mygeogear.com took an order today for a large number of custom travel tags from a lady in the UK who is setting up a memorial website for her geocacher son who passed away. I don't know any more details about the sad story here, but it looks like he was pretty young. Anyway, I believe...

Re: Jervis Bay Territory caches - listed as NSW

I can't see any caches at Hutt River Province though ? And it's a slightly different discussion - a self declared nation missing from GC.com and a whole territory of mainland Australia missing from GC.com, and several caches shown in totally the wrong state. I have contacts I can provide feedback to...

Re: Jervis Bay Territory caches - listed as NSW

No. Again being pedantic .... ".....it has always been a separate Commonwealth territory. The perception that it is part of the ACT stems from the fact that under the terms of the Jervis Bay Territory Acceptance Act, the laws of the ACT apply to the Jervis Bay Territory."

Jervis Bay Territory caches - listed as NSW

I may be being overly pedantic, but it looks like there are at least 3 and maybe many more GC caches that are incorrectly listed as NSW, when they are clearly in the Jervis Bay Territory. http://coord.info/GC3GPA5 for instance. The map here shows the proper location: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jer...

Re: A sim for Italy

I have bought overseas SIM cards from eBay before a long trip - I have searched ebay.com.au and there are Italian SIMs available. Usually pre-activated and easy to buy more credit for. I use a Samsung Duos dual SIM Android phone while overseas (<$200 to buy outright), putting my Telstra SIM in slot ...
