Re: Reading the new(ish) Earthcache guidelines

They were pretty clear in their email. On re-reading they are basically saying they pretty much don't want anyone going there. I don't know how they can limit numbers seeing as it's only accessible via a long walk from Wondabyne station - you don't exactly park the car and pay the ranger. In accord...

I was up in the Kimberly a week or two ago. They're all up there at the moment, I think, sorry.  :D

Re: Munzees!

What is the etiquette on Munzees inside a geocache (my own GC that is, when I finally place my first one!) I'm thinking stuck inside the lid for easy capture :) Also consider that if Munzee'ers who aren't cachers are looking for your Munzee, they may not take as much care with the cache as a cacher...

Re: Oddball 'communities'

They don't come much odder than the Cosplay folks, I'm not involved in any way, although I have seen photos posted on a photography forum (a quick google for cosplay images will show some startling although not too rude results...maybe careful though if you're at work). They have a presence on Faceb...

Re: Munzees!

Well, that was a disappointing experience...hopefully someone can tell me I did something wrong. If not, Munzee has some serious shortcomings in the offline stakes. I was in the US for a conference last week and I have roaming data turned off on the phone, so couldn't do any Munzees "live". I knew t...

Re: Munzees!

Looked for three, all DNFs. The co-ords for the one in the park using either the phone or the Magellan lead me to a patch of grass so looked under any & all benches incl. some in a rotunda. I checked location via Google Earth but too blurry to be of any use. Then went to an historic cemetery which ...

Re: Munzees!

If you hit "Find this Munzee", rather than "Navigate to", you do get a compas of sorts and a distance to the coordinates. That combined with zooming in on the google map/satellite view is usualy enough to get you close enough to spot the obvious hides

Re: Munzees!

Purchased a Smart Phone & decided I'd test this Munzee business, might even go & officially find one of fluffyfish's munzees. Downloaded to phone & laptop & was surprised that there was one nearby. Enabled the GPS on the phone, downloaded some speech thing & it told me where to go. Unfortunately wh...

Re: Munzees!

Yep, a Virtual Munzee really seems pointless to me too. I enjoy the game, although I do prefer caching. I just wish there were a few more Munzees down my way (apart from mine..all sitting there unloved, waiting for FTF [-o< )

Aaron posted up this about 20 minutes ago: Our hosting company is experiencing a catastrophic failure causing us to be down all morning. I know how frustrated you are so we have assembled the troops and are firing up Plan B. We don't know how much longer the servers will be down but we are doing ev...
