Re: Let's Talk Angels!

I am visiting Cessnock/Pokolbin from 3/1/2103 to 5/1/2013. Does this fit in with anyone else's travel plans? Geoff aka Tyreless We're travelling from ACT to that area late on the 5th. Staying for at least a week, then heading south and (very!) West. Hoping for an unexpected passenger to watch very ...

Clean-Up Australia Day casualties?

Recently checked on a hide and found that an organised Clean-Up Australia Day volunteer crew had been through the area and removed maybe a tonne of trash - including possibly the exposed / misplaced cache container   Has this happened to anybody else - or any other caches that anybody ca...

Re: new GCA android app

Turns out it is not showing up because of the minimum version requirements. What features from 2.1 does it use that are not available in 1.6 mtrax? There was quiet a bug jump from 1.6 to 2.1 but as far as what API level specific code I'm using I would have to comb through the whole app to figure th...

Re: new GCA android app

I thought I was putting off trying out this app because I misspelled the name in the market search and got no results.

Turns out it is not showing up because of the minimum version requirements. What features from 2.1 does it use that are not available in 1.6 mtrax?

Re: Report GCA Site issues here

The "Cache Details" section of the cache page for an externally listed cache has likely had overly enthusiastic search/replace performed on it. See for example Jurien Rocks!! or Muddy Track Cache

I would be somewhat surprised if this didn't occur elsewhere ...

Re: Geohunter storing waypoints wrong

I wonder if I can install market versions of apps via the market website? you NEED to have a gmail accout mapped to YOU for the market to work. It is the first step when you set up the phone. go to the Gmail app on the phone and it should say in the top right what your acct name is. THAT is your go...

Re: Geohunter storing waypoints wrong

I went to log it as a defect in the issue tracker but don't have a google account  Was that you logging issue 108? How do you use the market on the phone without a Google acct? What an excellent question. The answer appears to be - the phone has an account that I am not able to retrieve the d...

Re: Geohunter storing waypoints wrong

Does anyone else have issue with Geohunter storing waypoints in a multi incorrect? I've been using geohunter for a couple of months now and have just realised that it is giving me a bum steer. Yes, I have this issue on my A50. I'm sticking with Android v1.6 and I have the market version of GeoHunte...

Re: Android version?

Garmin Asus A50 nuvifone - left it on stock 1.6, currently quite happy with that decision. Can use quite well with no SIM and no sdcard, Garmin navigation works (from a cache location in GeoHunter or cgeo too), plays audio-books/music fine, camera quite acceptable for a primarily GPSr device. Yes, s...

Re: Who's a GPSBabel expert?

I have a kml file og polygons in AGD66 format and I want to transform it into WGS84. GPSBabel version 1.4.2 doesn't list AGD66 (or similar) in the list of 122 :!: supported Datums. [EDITED] Of course I didn't check properly and "Australia Geo 1984" is listed as a datum. This is practically the same...

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011

If the average distance to the moon is 384,403 kilometers, and I get about 9 l/100km around town in my Outback, that's about 34,596 litres of petrol, at about $1.319 per litre with my wife's Cole's vouchers. That works out to about $45,632, neglecting the vertical thrust component. These :gnome and...

Re: Gnomes to the Moon

I reckon the distance in the calculation for travelling to the moon could be a bit far. From the wiki: "The average distance between the Moon and the Earth is 384,403 kilometers (238,857 miles). This distance fluctuates between 363,104 kilometers and 405,696 kilometers (225,622 to 252,088 miles) du...

Re: Garmin Asus A50 - Software

Still having a few problems. Interestingly enough those problems seem to relate to geocaching australia files only. Geohunter seems to be having trouble loading them...it gets to a certain point then crashes. What GPX version do you have set at http://geocaching.com.au/my/settings/ ? I tried 1.1 wi...
