Re: Are there any other Memory-Map users amongst us?

Hi Ian-and-Penny That's nearly 3 years ago now but as I recall, the key factors were firstly that that Memory-Map provided seamless maps whereas at that time Ozi didn't and secondly it gave us access to 1:25k VicMaps that we didn't have on Ozi. Most of our use of Ozi was in terms of recording GPS tr...

Re: Are there any other Memory-Map users amongst us?

I'll take you up on the offer of advice re calibrating other maps. I make recreational maps using OCAD (www.ocad.com) and occasionally have found the need to import them into GPSUtility. But once I complete the VicMap 1:25k update (the original version is highly deficient) it makes sense to use Memo...

Are there any other Memory-Map users amongst us?

I used to use Ozi-Explorer but now find Memory-Map easier to use most of the time. And I love those 1:25k topos.

Any other users with whome to trade tips?

Anniversary cache thermometer is empty. And my descending time listings are ascending except that my latest post (this one) sits on top.

Re: Grey Areas - GCA No Go Zones.

I admit to ambivalence on the issue of GA No Go zones. But one in particular has been in my thoughts for some weeks as I have passed near it a few times. It is in a motorway zone where parking on the roadside is illegal except in emergency. The actual illegality isn't my worry so much as that parkin...

Re: Garmin - A tale of woes!

My Magellan experience is quite different. My eXplorist 210 locked up in December and I think it took just 2 or 3 days for Magellan distributor http://www.nextdestination.com.au to respond with the price ($110 which is their minimum). But more importantly, handling the issue via my GPSr dealer was s...

Re: Location listing beside Cache name

Thanks - that got me thinking. Was using Firefox so switched across to IE and it works OK.

Must be a little glitch somewhere in respect of FF (v3.5.7).

Location listing beside Cache name

I'm curious as to how the location listing is derived. This is the location in parentheses tacked onto the cache name. And is it possible to change it if it is less appropriate than another location? Read the wiki on listing but couldn't find any reference nor through doing a search on the forum. Us...

Re: YouTube video - Puzzle Geocaching 101 - Part 1

Just when I was ready to take music lessons to solve SamCarter and Fudge in D Minor , your video makes me realise it is more likely to be solved cryptic crossword style. Not sure which is worse, but anyway I don't think you have got to the bit I need yet so as the priors have said, "Hurry up please"...

My Routes / Public Routes

Route radius minimum is 1km. I could swear that I successfully used 0.5km and 0.4km a couple of weeks ago.

If I didn't, could the radius be narrower than 1km?

Thx, Kenny :?:
