Re: Co-ordinate shift.
So, I guess what I'm asking is: "Does anyone have any theory or suggestions as to what could have possibly caused this "error" to occur, given that it was present over the space of at least a week and a half, and over a dozen different readings?" If your readings were all taken about the same time ...

Inserting image in post?
To insert an image into a post, can I load that image somewhere in my GA pages? I uploaded the image to one of my cache pages but couldn't establish a URL that would make it publicly accessible.
Or do I have to upload it to an external web site?

Garmin Vista H queries
Garmin isn't exactly prolific with guides etc is it? Mind you I'll probably get much more useful answers from the forum anyway. 1. Why is an Averaging function provided? Doesn't a GPSr continually average? 2. On the map/track screen, sometimes there is a circle centred on the pointer. The circle red...

Geocaching terminology?
Gidday. I'm just finishing off an offset cache and am looking for the term to describe the location that is listed in the cache info. This is the first point you arrive at in the quest. I have seen a few generic references but wonder if there is something more precise like 'landing point' ... :?: Ke...

Re: Co-ord checker when creating a cache listing
From the wiki: http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Check_coords That will work out just fine. I won't even ask for a UTM version (yet) Looks like I chould have tried searching without a hyphen in co-ord... However I suspect I am doing something wrong when searching the forums as I too frequen...

Co-ord checker when creating a cache listing
I couldn't find a reference 'Co-ord Checker' which appears near the bottom of the page when creating a GA cache listing. I tried Wiki, FAQ and forum search (strangely a search of this forum on 'co-ord' and 'co-ordinate' told me that neither word exists in this forum - I find that hard to believe). I...

Re: hh mm.mmm - UTM coversions and Memory Map
Sorry Kerry. I thought I had said that I used WGS84 datum in all measurements but I must have accidentally edited it out. Re the small difference between GDA94 & WGS84, I agree it is hardly relevant to us. But the difference between Memory Map's UTM and the others is definitely too much to bear. You...

hh mm.mmm - UTM coversions and Memory Map
This follows on from a co-ordinate format thread in GCA web site? I plugged in S37° 21.566' E144° 12.374' in Memory Map to prepare an offset cache for GCA 10th anniversary. Switched back to UTM as that is what I usually work in and also it was easier to adjust my GZ fix that I took some way from the...

Re: Suggestion: display o-ordinate format alternatives
I prefer the 55S 248095E 5884844N format firstly because it is easy to cut and paste to/from the 2 mapping softwares, secondly because I find it it is easier to relate to VicMaps and thirdly because it avoids an unnecessary 2 letters - over 27.75 years it makes time for one more cup of coffee. Chan...

Re: Suggestion: display o-ordinate format alternatives
I nominate this thread for the most bizzare brain hurting feature request thread EVER. Kenny, can you check that the UTM position matches the proper format as far as location goes? It looks ok to me, but I have no idea if it is correct or not  I'll play brain dead for this response (my partner...

Suggestion: display o-ordinate format alternatives
I couldn't find a request for this on this forum so maybe I am a lone voice? Anyway I would find the display on a cache page of at least UTM (WGS84) format a great help because I (selfishly) operate in that mode for non-geocaching. I note GC does that so presumably there is some demand. Yes I know -...
