Hema maps are very good, but you may also want to consider the Magellan Crossover GPS.

I can really sympathise with you. I had a similar incident a number of years ago at a cache site on the central coast of NSW. Had left valuables in the car and you guessed it, broken window on my return. You can replace physical items, but about 1 years worth of video of my daughter growing up is no...

Hey Whats That? - Panoramas

I stumbled across this cool site when I was attaching a contour overlay on my google maps. You can generate panoramas from anywhere you want. Click the "Visibility cloak" button to see what is visible. Turn on the Profile to see a cross section between 2 points. This link will take you to the top of...

Not all that usefull in the urban environment, but great for checking out those longer cache expeditions out i...

Re: Wish I had a dollar for every....

All modern handheld GPSr's have an averaging function. Except for those new Garmin Colorados   mm and my Explorist XL... Why would the manufacturers leave such a usefull feature out? This surprised me when I changed over from my ancient Garmin 12 to the Explorist a couple of years ago.

Re: PPC sux

Is there any decent freeware out there for pocket PC. As palm owner I was used to lots of lovely apps. Tidetool, planetarium, wordz, games etc. Searching for apps suitable for PPC is a bit like looking for water at Andamooka. Where are the gems? A couple you may find usefull :- ctide http://airtaxi...
