EcoBaby

Many old time cachers may be pleased to know that EcoTeam now have 3 members! Sagan Eli Jones was born 11-5-11 1:55pm 2.48kg or 5lb/7 in the old money. EcoNic and EcoSagan are doing fine. Whether or not EcoDave is doing fine is hotly debated in psychology circles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzrt...

Re: Geocaching Video Presentation - Early History & Megacaches

You learn something new everyday. Last time I tried to upload a video over ten minutes it wouldn't go. Something must have changed recently. Nothing has changed, it's still a 10 minute limitation. I can upload any length because I'm a Youtube Partner, hence the ads on the video which I get a commis...

Geocaching Video Presentation - Early History & Megacaches

Here is a video presentation I gave at the NSW geocaching association Geocaching 101 meeting on June 27th. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gVnTKb2SA8 (Available in HD to see detail on the slides) It looks at some of the early history of the Sydney geocaching scene, early competition, and some of the...

Didn't go to the MSP430 days, haven't heard about that watch. Got a pic? EcoDave. At the MSP430 Days, I usually ran one of these off three lemons with copper (20c coins) and zinc (galvanised iron) electrodes, just to show that it was really low power. One's been running off a 2032 battery for almos...

That's like the proverbial piece of sting question

First prototype from concept to working prototype was about 30 hours work all up. Not much at all.

How long does it take to actually make one? A few hours work I guess.

Yep, much nerdier than my old Casio DB-102! Did you get one of those MSP430 watches at a TI MSP430 Day a few years ago, Dave? They weren't as sophisticated, of course (mainly lacking the buttons) but were still pretty cool. I've got one going into a midnight-only cache sometime Real Soon Now... So,...

Gawd, I haven't been on here forever... I almost forget what caching is!

Totally un-geocaching related, but I thought a few of you might like (or laugh at) my latest gadget:

Google Earth mapping of Sydney Harbour on Aust Day!

Google will be re-mapping Sydney Harbour on Australia Day, for Google Maps, and presumably Google Earth as well.
