Re: Reading the new(ish) Earthcache guidelines

Yep, to me if the land owner has specifically stated in their policy that permission is not required for this type of cache, quote it in your reviewer note to the Geoaware and noting your EC is based in an area that has exisiting paths that is not going to cause damage, to me their should be no pro...

Re: Reading the new(ish) Earthcache guidelines

No, Yurt, that is helpful to know. It makes me realize that step 2 (after considering the site) is to apply for permission to place the earthcache, because they are quite a bit of effort to set up for geologists and non-geologists alike. Thanks for considering this point for the agenda, Richary. I t...

Reading the new(ish) Earthcache guidelines

Since I last listed an earthcache, the guidelines have been updated. (January 1 this year). Now there is a permission requirement in play.: 3. Permission Landowner or land manager permission is required for most EarthCache locations. It is important the land manager understands that your EarthCache ...

How to set up a Caching Calender... ?

With the new year upon us, I would like to fill in my caching calender, ie, find at least 1 geocache on every day of the year. (lucky for me I got the leapday cache this year) I had smart phone reminders set up on my idevice this year using a google calender set up through a macro in my GSAK databas...

Re: WhereIGo & Windows 7 - 64 bit

actually, Big matt, I would love a copy of the file of 'walking the dogs' if you still have it. I have done that one. I haven't done Newcastle tour yet.

I have all the waypoints and even the hide built for mine around Maitland, but I start, and loose interest pretty quick.

Re: N00b With an iPad and Some Questions

have you tried 'Igeoknife'?
it handles your gpx pocket queries and opens them from your email.
you can use it for navigating and logs too!
it is quite good for caching with the ipad.

Re: Connecting Garmin Dakota to Ipad

But no. I can't store GPX files and move them to my gps from my iPad. I need to plan my trip well and have the files on my GPS or store the info on the Idevice and program the gps with co-ordinates.

Re: Connecting Garmin Dakota to Ipad

There is a good iPad app called igeoknife that opens *.gpx files and can also be set up to update with your whole GSAK database file upon sync.

Re: Caching Cleanup

I have seen bags compacted into little packets to fit into ladies purses, for when they forget to take the shopping bag/s down to the grocer. Kinda like this http://www.chicobag.com/category/micro . But not so expensive. The thing is, they could be screen printed or reused if required. As to naming ...

Re: How to: Projected Coordinates

I have a little app called 'map tools' (iphone) that can work this out when hiding.
When finding, I use the 'project waypoint' function on my garmin.
