Re: It's official !!! Geocaching is a manly activity

Seems my "manliness" score is 12/45. Thankfully I am of the doubly refined species  .

Re: Spice it up a little

Fantastic idea! I hope you don't mind if I rudely sign TFTC and omit a novel about how beautiful the location is or how much I enjoyed the journey to GZ / solving the puzzle :-" .

Re: Helpful Hints for Newcomers

Some people have some pretty cool stats / graphs in their GC profile but I can't figure out how they do it. I am a paying member.

Also, is GSAK worth using?

Re: Helpful Hints for Newcomers

If I get the time, I'll add a help link to a wiki page for this sort of stuff. I have been adding help where I see the need, but of course, I know everything so it's hard to see what others may not know. This sort of feedback is useful in helping to make the site easier to understand. I think that'...

Re: Could it be another.....

I hope this isn't going to be a new trend in GCA, we don't need another GC. Is there no way to check this out properly before airing suspicions in public? Not everyone is creative in their logs, I've seen people with 500+ finds write TFTC. Infact, when I can think of nothing nice to say, no reason w...

Re: Helpful Hints for Newcomers

This is a silly question that has probably been answered before (in which case a link will suffice) but where do I set up my profile so that I can look at my stats / graphs... e.g. the days on which I have cached, how many of my finds have been in each of the difficulty / terrain combinations, etc? ...

Re: 2010 news years caching resolutions.

I'd really like to do some more hikes / rides to regain fitness. Other than that, wipe off a certain mexican off my list, and find a nice place to put my ammo tin. Continue to enjoy caching my own way :D.

Geohubby and geobaby and I ducked out for 6 caches this christmas day. It's a great way to build memories.

Re: What cache did I find?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I logged only one find, so my stats are still correct (ahhh gotta keep the numbers right!). Next time I am out that way I will pop the smaller cache into the larger one perhaps with an explanatory note, because most finders seem to be in the same state of confusion ...

Re: GCA listings of caches in areas where geocaching is banned

It's rather annoying that sometimes you HAVE to be a scrub turkey because the cache is hidden under a meter of leaf litter. Or the co-ords are off by 7 or 8 m so you have to disturb more area than required. I try to be gentle and lift the litter then put it down again, so it doesn't appear as though...

Re: What cache did I find?

Oh it seems there are two containers and two logs for the ONE looking back cache, according to IF: January 5, 2008 by If (5530 found) Out touring today and dropped by here with Team Rubik. We found the original mini-tape box and a small 'sistema' box both of which are marked as the Looking Back cach...

Re: What cache did I find?

Perhaps, but I don't think so. Francis' most recent log reads: Logs November 2008 14th Found it thefourbees Took a bit of searching but the cache was found along with the other 2 dot com caches at the same site. It must look odd to see a pair of legs daggling from beneath the roof line. TFTC August ...

What cache did I find?

I went out today to do some caching, and at one GZ I found two caches (yes, two very distinct caches with two different logs) at the same spot. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=1157538b-b3b3-4251-872c-df818c733d08&log=y&decrypt= I have logged 'Looking Back' which I assume was t...

Re: Helpful Hints for Newcomers

I've found about 50 so far, and loving this sport :). What's the deal with posting a NM? Is this something that annoys the CO? I recently found a cache, and noticed that previous finders have been complaining about a wet log for 18 months. Some experienced cachers have gone before me but none of the...
