Re: Garmin Montana
Hmm, the only difference I can see is a camera in the 650 for an additional 80$ usd.
Still, I'd pay that - not having to lug my camera around makes me very happy to have my 550

Cheers

Re: Geocachestore in Australia still in existance?
Sorry, I should have been clearer. The code was provided by gc.com - I had all my items, I just hadn't activated the trackable. Gc.com were able to provide the code via an email sent to their contact page. I realise it doesn't help those who never received items, but thought the info might be useful...

Re: Geocachestore in Australia still in existance?
I followed the link provided in round circle's post, and received the code no probs.
If I recall correctly, it was a generic code, but of course, I can't find the email - doh!

Re: Waterproof pants
+1 for under. Although, it depends on where you're walking - if I'm wandering through scrub, I'd much prefer my gaiters to be taking the bashing from the sharp prickly bits rather than my pants. If I'm wandering along a nicely graded track with lots of side space, I'd probably not bother with the gai...

Re: Oregon 450t - loading GPX files
I have the O550 w/ WinXP and was having similar issues early on, however, in my case, the issues were resolved by ensuring that I used the 'eject USB device' option in XP before I disconnected the O550. For me, the issue seemed to be a combo of a known 'dicky' USB port and the old WinXP issue of the...

Re: Trig points - a general discussion
My problem with the photo reqs is that I use my oregon 550 for the camera - so guess who isn't going to be in the shot and neither is my GPS!!! However, I try to leave the exif info intact (except that if I'm posting piccies in logs for puzzle or multi caches etc as well, I occasionally batch strip ...

Re: Trig points - a general discussion
Personally I would suggest they should be archived if the trig points aren't there. But that's just my opinion. And I would still have no trouble with you claiming the FTF (and only find) for going up there and finding out. If you got a photo with the original base of it then that's probably fair. ...

And just to throw some more mud into the water, what if the coords are there (well, they would be wouldn't they - ROFL), there is some form of marker (ie cairn, manmade hole in the rock etc) but its NOT a brass plate or a metal frame thingy?? Two that I have found like this include http://geocaching...

Re: Waterproof notebook on Catch of the Day
Still an hour left, although given the shipping cost , I won't be indulging. If you were going to by multiples, then assuming the postage is flat rate, that'd make it worth while.
